Factory fire in Chonburi

A large factory fire in Chonburi has caused severe building damage. The fire was at a factory that produces synthetic fabrics. The cause of the fire is was due to a fabric drying oven that over heated.

CHONBURI – January 22, 2014 [PDN]; At 14:10, Pol.Lt.Capt. Samatcha maître, officer of the shift, Banbueng, was notified that there was a fire in Nongkae industrial group, moo 3, Banbueng, so they went with Pol.Col.Samer Ornmang, Silatham Samakom foundation rescuers, 10 fire trucks from Bangbueng and nearby municipalities. The crime scene was at a building of Thai Technical Nanwovens Nonwovens Co., Ltd., 199 /7, which produces synthetic fabrics to export and for domestic use. The firemen injected water onto the fire to try and control it in order to stop it spreading to the rest of the factory. It took over 30 minutes to bring the factory under control admits fears the building might collapse.

From the preliminary investigation, police found out that there were only 6 employs present whilst the machines were working suddenly there was a lot of smoke coming out of the factory. The fire spread very quickly. Officials think the cause was a material oven dryer that had overheated which set on fire, but it will be fully investigated to find the real cause.
