DMK to Pattaya during shutdown

has anybody done this trip during the recent shutdown of Bangkok? I usually get a cab to Mo Chit then the bus to Pattaya. I heard there are traffic blocks on major roads in Bangkok that might be a problem. Another option is get the bus to BKK then the other bus to Pattaya.

 

Any info would be appreciated

An option might be a taxi to the new airport then a bus from there. Use the express-way between the two. There is a bus service which may work if they use the express-way but since I have read it takes an hour I don't think that they normally do.

The free shuttle bus does use the expressway but still will take between 45 and 75 minutes between the two airports depending on the time of day and traffic conditions.  If it is still running I will be useing it this week as I do very frequently.  They have recently upgraded the buses that they use on this route but still far from luxury travel.

There are no major roads shut down - just city centre intersections.  Everything is running "normally".  But this is Thailand.

as promised, here is an update, if anybody is interested. smooth sailing! no signs of anything on the main roads DMK to Mo Chit or onto Pattaya. Was worried for no reason. DMK arrivals sure was awfully quiet though...
