Mass Hysteria Causes 20 Studentâ€™s To Convulse

PRAJEENBURI – Jauary 17,2014 [PDN]; the journalist reported that at Saptippayakorn Nadee school, Nadee, Prajeenburi, there was an elephant duel to worship the great king Naresuan, in the ceremony of Thai armed forces day. The school started the ceremony with a Thai classical dance but there was something unexpected happened, one of the dancers screamed out and then convulsed on the stage. It caused chaos among the teachers and students.

The incident escalated when some 14 – 16 year old students acted like the dancer by screaming out and convulsing. They were frightened like they were possessed by a ghost. The rescuers from Nithisatchabuddhadham foundation Kabinburi, rushed to take them to Nadee hospital. A total of 20 were taken to hospital were doctors gave them first aid by giving them oxygen and ammonia.The cause of the incident is still not known but all the students recovered and were sent home.
