April flights from London- gone mad !

I'm trying to get flights from London around 28th -30th March, returning 19/20 April. Everything is about £600ish or over, with most flights being 19-28 hours in length !!!!!!!' WTF is going on ? I'm hoping most of the airlines will release more seats soon. I don't mind the cost but the flight time is just mad...... Any thoughts guys ?

maybe because it goes into april so the price goes up for songkran...i'm going start of march and coming back at the end and i paid £555 direct

19/20 April in England is Easter weekend, this could have something to do with it.

If you have stronger nerves, try to wait for the time about to six weeks before your planed departure date. The prices usually fall, becouse some travel company return some not using air ticket.

What about flying over CDG or FRA?

 

80-100 € LHR-CDG, Air France (1h) / 100 € LHR-FRA, BA (1h40)

546.35 € CDG-BKK, Qatar (16h) / 575 € FRA-BKK, Kuwait Airways (14h) or Air India or Air China

 

There are plenty of other possibilities to fly from aswell (AMS, ARN, etc.)
