PATTAYA – January 10, 2014 [PDN]; Pol. Lt. Col. Phatthasa Dechphakkul (Investigation officer of Pattaya city police station, Chonburi province) was notified that there was a shooting at a Norwegian food restaurant named “Kristiania” which is located at 385/15-16, at the grade separation near Balihai cape, Moo 10 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province. He rushed to inspect the scene together with his police team.

At the incident was a 4 stories commercial building with 2 units on the ground floor which was being used as a Norwegian food restaurant and the upper floors were rental rooms. After inspecting the incident the officers were told that a bronze Honda car, license number CHOR YOR-7871 Bangkok was shot and damaged, also the glass front door of the restaurant was also damage from being shot but the none of the customers were injured. The officers found three 9mm gun cartridges on the ground plus 2 bullets, so they kept them for evidence. Upon questioning a Mr. Banlue Eam-mee-sri, aged 28, address 52/1 Moo 7 Tambon Bang Chalong, Amphur Bang Bor, Samut Prakarn province, said that while he was on the upper floor of the building he heard approximately 3 gun shots but at first he thought that it was teenagers playing around until his mother ran upstairs and told him that the restaurant had been shot so he went downstairs to inspect the damage.

The cause of shooting Mr. Banlue thought that it might because he argued with a motorbike taxi rider about the parking that obstructed the road due to Mr. Banlue parks his car in front of the restaurant so his mother can get out of the car (the road in front of the restaurant is a private road but the motorbike riders always used this route in order to avoid the traffic lights) Mr. Banlue said the motorbike taxi rider he argued with was wearing a green jacket and was riding a women’s style motorbike and that was all he could remember. He also added that the shooting must be linked with the motorbike taxi rider because he and his family have never had any problems with anyone before.

After inspecting and investigating the incident in detail then the police made a record for evidence. Initially, the officers could not inspect the CCTV at the red light cross due to the CCTV system was out of order. However, the police will inspect the eyewitnesses and the CCTV nearby the incident point in order to find clues to arrest the gunman and prosecute him further according to Thai law.
