Over the Songkran Festival period Police checkpoints will be set up to ensure that drivers are abiding by the law and are especially not drinking while under the influence of alcohol. We went to one such checkpoint on Friday Night on the Sukumvit Road. Drivers were randomly pulled over and some were breath tested. On this occasion, no one was found to be over the legal alcohol consumption limit. We must warn motorists that these checkpoints will be in operation for the next seven days and we urge everyone not to drive drunk as you will be endangering your life and the life of others.
