Does it make it more difficult to get a TG a visa if you state on an application that she worked in a bar when you met her?

My moto for 2017: Don't argue with an idiot. Don't argue with.....

Is it important that a girl has a job to come back to when she returns to Thailand, and does she need written evidence from her employer?

Reason to return again it comes up everytime. Whats the turn around time per application ?

Sorry for the delay in replying to this.

In my opinion it would make it difficult for a bargirl to be the stated occupation of the girl on any application, however, the context of her work, a letter from her employer and the availability of her work upon her return will be factors which can be determined. Cases are looked at on a case by case basis. A common sense approach will need to be taken.

Further to that point, the job she holds will need to be open and yes, her employer will need to vouch for that with a letter. Jobs are seen as the most secure reason for a visa applicant from THailand to return.

Time wise - a tourist visa can be approved in up to 5 days, sometimes sooner, depending on lodgment. Check for lodgement days and times. Other visas, including fiance ones take anywhere between 1 month to 3 months depending on the scope of the application, always make sure EVERYTHING is included from the outset to avoid delays.

My wife is currently in Thailand awaiting the outcome of a child migration visa application. Someone told us it takes a month. Vfs said three months when we lodged it. One of our friends waited six months for insuficient paperwork. Ours was all good. I am very thorough.

But. They sent me an e-mail querying my police record. I have several assaults, and some breach of domestic violence order. These are all over ten years ago. I sent an explanation, but they say they have referred it to their colleagues in Australia, and it could take some time. My wife is on visa 309. Temporary resident.

Anyone give me some hope/ advice?

Ok. I have seen the process of friend's temporary visa conversion to full residency after living with his wife for 2 years. In my opinion your criminal record does not matter. All you have to prove is that both of you have lived together for 2 years. Proofs will include joint account, bill and home insurance etc. Photos will be great help as well. They will send you letter automatically when 2 years are about to finish.

Thanks ringadingding. We are ok on the spouse visa. That only took 5 weeks. It's the daughters migration visa we are waiting for. I think we have waited too long. Maybe some others have experience with this

Edited by Goanna

Actually Goanna what I think is happening is that with kids DIAC is required to be especially careful and I would say that they are checking to see what sort of assaults you committed and what was involved in the breach of AVO. This can certainly take time, months. I am not surprised. However, as long as you included everything in your application, disclosed everything, and your explanation in your reply was reasonable objectively you may be ok. All you can do is sit tight and wait. Or you could contact the Embassy.

Do i need to get a visa for a 12 day visit in may coming from Australia?

Mate i thought that all dependents that where included with your spouses visa would come through together....

She wanted her daughter to finish school in Thailand- she can't speak english. But things at home have got a bit out of hand. She was beaten up by her brother, and her 19 year old cousin has been bringing his friends to the house, playing loud music and such. Now she has stopped going to school.

I have been in touch with the Aus embassy this week. They tell me they are still checking. Maybe 3 months more. Oh well. Missus is coming home in the meantime, and daughter is with family.

No. You can get a thirty day visa at the airport when you arrive. As long as you have a return ticket. If you need longer, download the form from thai consulate website, and send in with your passport. They send it back after 3 or 4 days with the stamp in it. Check the thai consulate website.

Rabs not a lot of people watching this thread....

If you are talking about going to Thailand then the answer is no. Not visa is required for a stay of less then a month for tourism. You can get a visa exemption as you go through immigration in Thailand. All you need to do is start leaving the airport and they will stamp your passport for a one month stay....

Make sure you have 6 months left on your passport as you enter Thailand.....

Thanks very much for the info gents, another worry settled .

Hi all

Could anyone tell me if there is a required period of time you either

1. need to be living with a Thai girlfriend or

2. been in a relattionship together

before you can apply for a Prospective Marriage Visa ?

Is it the same time as a defacto visa where you have to be living together for 12 months ?

Cheers

A couple of questions.

1. If you are still married in Oz and living at home. The Wife doesnt suspect a TG. But the guy(not me) wants to bring his TG to OZ on a Tourist Visa...what box does she tick?? Defacto? Never been in a relationship?

The intention is to separate from Oz wife...and eventually Marry T/G....but for now...get TG to come to Oz...make sure she's happy living here.

2. Have spent more than half of the last 4 years with my TG....mainly in Thailand...all provable...I've been separated for over 7 years, but not divorced. Any special way of getting around her(TG) to live in Oz (short of getting divorced...and then marrying TG)?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Need some advice lads.

My mate is going to Thailand for 32 days, I told him instead of getting a 60 day visa in Sydney before he travels in August he can get an extension in Bkk? Yes or No ? What is his best option?

Cheers

It is possible to get a 7 day extension. However, if he does not have a visa he may be asked to show proof that he has a flight to leave the country. Immigration rarely asks to see this. The problem is that the airline may refuse to let him board the plane if his return flight requires a stay longer than 30 days. The tourist visa is the best option.
