Korean Man Hangs Himself To Death

PATTAYA – January 5, 2014 [PDN]; Pol. Lt. Yutthaphol Boonkerd (Investigation police of Banglamung police station, Chonburi province) was notified that there was a foreign man who had hung himself to death in room number 140/348 on the 12th floor, A building, Pattaya Plaza Condotel, Soi Sukhumvit-Pattay 53, opposite to King Power, central Pattaya, Moo 9 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province. So he rushed to inspect the scene together with the rescuers of Sawang Boriboon Tharmma Satharn foundation, Pattaya city.

At the scene the officers found the corpse of Mr. Park Hyunok, Korean nationality, aged 50.He had tied a cloth around his neck and tied it to a golf club that was crossed with the wardrobe about 2 meters height. The corpse was decomposed. There were no wounds on his body so the officers assumed that he had been dead approximately 3 days and there was no trace of foul play.

Upon questioning the employee of condominium, he said that on Friday’s morning (January 3, 2014) he saw Mr. Park Hyunok (the deceased) walked down from his room as usual but that was the last time he saw him until his Korean friend came to see him who knocked the deceased’s rooms door for a long time there was no answer. His friend noticed a bad smell coming from inside the room. Once the door was opened they found his Korean friend hanging.
The Korean friend (not revealed his name) said that Mr. Park Hyunok (the deceased) usually came to Thailand and previously Mr. Park told him that he didn’t have any money for is rent of the condominium and hadn’t paid it for 4 months so he called his mother to help him.

After investigation, the police assumed that it was a suicide and the officers sent the corpse for an autopsy at Institute of Forensic Medicine, Police General Hospital in order to find the explicit cause of his death again before coordinate with the Korean embassy.
