2 Drug Dealers Arrested Who Ordered Drugs From Chonburi Prison

Pattaya police have arrested 2 drug dealers who ordered their drugs from a main dealer in Chonburi prison. The drugs were being sold to prostitutes who work in the beach area and the drug dealers were arrested in a sting operation.

PATTAYA – January 5, 2014 [PDN]; at 2.30 a.m. Pol. Lt. Vitsanu Chaisuwan (Deputy Inspector of Pattaya city, Chonburi province) together with forces of police teams and volunteer police to arrest 2 drug dealers in Pattaya city. The arrested were a a Mr. Mai Phiphatcharoenwong, aged 38, address 199 Din Daeng sub-district, Din Daeng district, Bangkok, with 108 amphetamines pills and 0.95 g of ice and a Ms. Saichol Khamhinkong, aged 31, address 163 Moo 8 Tambon Ta Kaeng, Amphur Suvarnnabhumi, Roi Ed province, with 10 amphetamines pills. The officers detained them to be investigated further at Pattaya city police station.

Pol. Lt. Vitsanu Chaisuwan had arrested some drug addicts who informed them of their dealer so the police could arrest Ms. Saichol (drug dealer) at her room in New Star apartment. The police searched her and found amphetamines hidden in her shirt pocket. After questioning Ms. Saichol, she confessed that the amphetamines belonged to her and she had bought them from her friend a Mr. Mai in order to sell to customers.

The police then told Ms. Saichol to contact Mr. Mai to purchase more amphetamines and to deliver them to her at Pattaya beach in front of Thip Plaza, south Pattaya. The officers waited for Mr. Mai to deliver the amphetamines to Ms. Saichol then the officers exposed themselves and arrested Mr. Mai with the drugs. The police questioned Mr. Mai and he confessed that the amphetamines and ice belonged to him and he sold them to prostitutes in Pattaya city for a long time and he had been arrested several times. He said he had received the ice from a Mr. Art. Mr. Art would order the drugs from a drug agent in Chonburi prison. Initially, the police charged him with the allegation of processing type 1 narcotics (amphetamines) and sent the 2 defendants to be prosecuted further according to Thai law.
