There is a topic running in Cambodia Advanced,

Given the traffic between Phnom Penh and Pattaya I think it should be out here too.

A Briton was on the run in Cambodia last night after police named him as the prime suspect in the murder of a local woman found with her throat slashed.

The naked body of the 20-year-old was found under a bed at the £12-a-night Bolyna Palace Hotel in the capital Phnom Penh.

Police said they were searching for Stuart James Green, who is believed to still be in the country.

Thanks, I was editing some links in, but I hadn't done that one.

Thanks Edge for doing this.  Those of us that knew Nary are sickened.  Just reflecting.......I remember the days when she used to walk around with a kitten and a parakeet.  She would never harm a living soul.  RIP sweet gentle lady.

.....................................

At a guess, he didn't have enough money to go "anywhere", which tends to suggest that if he's out of Cambodia, Thailand (and perhaps even the confusion of Pattaya) would be favourite - only about $25 from PP to here.

From other news reports it seems that the BiB have been very slow off the mark, no copy of Passport released and almost no background information as to what his prior movements were.

Hopefully a more up to date photo will surface soon.

Suicide may be suspect in murder
Thu, 9 January 2014

Phnom Penh authorities on Monday found the body of a foreign national they believe could be the suspect in the brutal murder of a young Cambodian woman found in a guesthouse last month, municipal police official Mom Sitha said yesterday.

Sitha said the body was found without identification in a guesthouse in Phnom Penh’s Daun Penh district, where the man had apparently smashed a window, then used a shard of glass to cut his own throat.

Police, he added, believed that the man is British national Stuart James Green, the prime suspect in last month’s killing.

“The dead foreigner, we suspect 70 to 80 per cent that it is [Green],” Sitha said.

Police said the guesthouse owner reported that the room had been rented by a friend of the man at 3am on January 5, but that the friend had left soon after.

Sitha said that the British embassy was investigating, but an official there said yesterday that the embassy was not able to comment at this time.
