Still being relativly new to Pattaya and P4P in general, this forum has provided and is still providing me a lot of usefull information. It provided me the basic info i needed to feel comfortable to take my first trip to Pats as a solo traveller a little over a year ago.

 

I haven't shared much info yet on this forum and decided to write this topic on my experience with HPV or in other words genital warts.

 

Shortly after my second trip now about 9 months ago, on a bright sunday morning I remember my partner calling me. She mentioned feeling something strange, warts! While she had no clue what it was, I did realize and checked myself to find a few ones also. This shortly after my second trip. I must be born for luck...

 

I know the risks associated to P4P, and except for some BBBJs a comdom was used at all times. No exceptions!

 

While there are a wide range of suggestions available on the internet I have found most of them useless. I am talking about suggestions to use different kind of oils, special soaps and so on. It also surprised me that from a medical point of view the more painfull options seem to be preferred over other treatments for a variety of reasons like not well knows treatment methods for the doctors, more cost effective for the hospitals and so on. I therefore believe the info in here will definitely be of use for BMs facing the same problem then me.

 

The treatment

Over the course of about 9 months I had a range of different treatments.

At first I had 3 warts and was referred to a dermatologist. Over a period of 5-6 months that I was under treatment of the dermatologist they tried to freeze them off, apply acid on them and use aldara cream. At the end of this I got rid of 1 of the 3 warts I had to start with and had several other ones instead. Besides the fact that I even got more warts then in the beginning, it was spreading more quickly as treatment evolved.

 

Next phase of the treatment. The dermatologist referred me to hospital for treatment as we were not really getting anywhere. I have been hospitalised 3 times to et the warts burned off. Again the same trend as before continued. After the first time the warts came back more numberous then ever after about 4 weeks. After being burned off the second time they came back after2 weeks....

 

Having asked in hospital several times what treatment options were available i got the same answer everytime. burning them off was the last possible option. Doing some rrsearch on internet also did not show any other options that have not been tried yet. At this time strting to get a bit desperate as I was not seeing any positive outcome of this and getting more warts. Some days I could even see a diffeernce compared to the day before. Needless to say the treatment so far had already cause some permanent scarring.

 

After the third session where the warts were burned of they got back after just 1 week! They also started to appear on the inside already by now. The doctors looked shocked. At that point they told me that we were not getting anywhere with this kind ofg treatment and that we would start to use some anti viral cream!!! FFS why would they first start burning these damn warts off, without success then, when apparently they can be treated with an antiviral cream??? The cream can be applied home, does not cause any scarring, ... Nothing but advantages if you ask me!!

 

At this point I estimated the wart covered surface was not far of a square inch already!!

 

I know use the cream for about a month for both treatment of the internal and external ones. I got just one external one left. For the internal ones they will be checked shortly but I guess they will be about gone also. Hoping for the best...

 

So I gues the most usefull piece of information for thoe forum is the name magical antiviral cream. The name is CIDOFOVIR. By looking at HPV treatment this cream did not come up under the search results as it was apparently developped for something else and now appears to become usefull for a wider range of deseases then innitially intended for. If you lookup on google for cidofovit you will find material related to the wart treatment with this.

 

I recently spoke to a senior doctor who was not attached to the hospital where I was treated and asked him why they did not prefer this treatment. It cost apparently a lot to the hospital as they take a big chuck of the cost of the cream. He said that by requesting this creme explicitely in hospital I could have drastically reduced the treatment duration.

 

I hope by sharing this on the forum that some other BMs can benefit from this information.

Sadly been there done that, but after the second lot of 'freezing/burning' off the little suckers are gone, just scarring left which does not look the best... 

You either get it or you don't I guess, I had sex with a girl with genital warts on several occasions but never got it myself. I think I would have gotten it a long time ago if I could. I never got regular warts either while I still remember most of my classmates with these huge filthy warts on their fingers.

 

I hope you'll never have to repeat your treatment!

I've successfully used apple cider vinegar for warts on a finger, no reason to think it wouldn't work elsewhere - though maybe it doesn't work for all (or severe) cases. I mean, the warts I had were not growing, or multiplying into new warts as the OP describes. However it does sting a little, so for the same reason you don't put nair on your ball sack to remove hair, approach with caution, maybe a diluted mix.

 

Many of these home remedies are bullshit, the placebo effect is the only thing they have going for them. However a wart doesn't go all black and fall off from the power of positive thinking . I don't think it transfers from mouth (lips) or hands, different strain of virus. AFAIK it would have been from contact with genitals. As skin-skin contact is all that's required (doesn't need cuts, or a liquid agent).. well I've had plenty of women rub up against me before the act, which has potential for transmission. It's virtually impossible to prevent your entire region from contacting a potentially infected area, so no matter how careful (even without accidents) I expect there is a small risk. Some people won't contract (or will but don't show symptoms) even when exposed.

A question I asked myself many times at first. As it is obvious I will never know I stopped wondering where I got them from. I got mine on my cock and inside of the foreskin, which means I would have gotten them from either a BBBJ and from a lady or my hands touching the lady genital area and after mine.

 

By talking to different medical staff I got some more insight in HPV like:

- the genital warts can appear in the mouth also

- HPV presence (without warts can be tested for women (pap smear), but not for men. So no warts does not mean your body cleared the virus. They might pop up at a stage where your natural defense is low

- HPV is a strong virus. Wet towels could even be a form of transmission

 

The topical cream I mentioned CIDOFOVIR is THE treatment method for genital warts and other for HIV infected people which have by definition a low immune system. SO it does not need or contribute to your body's immune system to beat it. As a side note it has been succesfully tested for controlling outbreaks of herpes also

That wart on your finger or your friends is not Genital warts.   That wart is from a different family, so fingering a girl----she won't get it.   Genital warts like herpes---85% percent of the population have.  The big warts are associated with stress and overweight people.  It also is related to clavicle cancer in women----as is Uterus cancers.

The best thing is there is a vaccination for this.   Get the shot, and give the shot to the young ones,  This , in our age is totally avoidable.  One prick in the arm, avoid cancer later on.   200 US  a shot in the.   Once you have warts, like herpes, you have it for life.

They have free HPV vaccination in Australia for Kids..... HPV is a cause of cervical cancer in women, so they decided it would be a good idea to vaccinate against it.  Now, AFAIK, that program targets girls  12 -13 years and boys 14 -15 years, presumably, because most Aussie kids that age are generally  thought (rightly or wrongly) NOT  to be not sexually active,  

 

As was said earlier, a large % of the adult population is already infected,  but are asymptomatic... so I am not sure that a vaccination of an adult would be beneficial. . if already carrying the virus, the vaccination is useless....

There are actual tens of different HPV variants. The one that can lead to cervical cancer in women are the ones that a vaccination exist for since some time. The variants that cause the warts are different HPV variants and are not included in this vaccination.

 

Recently there is a vaccination available in Belgium that covers 4 HPV variants. The 2 main ones that cause warts and the 2 main ones that can cause cervical cancer. they only seem to be given to guys by exception. Not sure why...

Yeah, the problem is you can be a carrier, and not know it.... just like many other virus.

 

I know a little bit more about the vaccination program in Australia, because it targets kids.... My daughters were immunised........ You know "prevention better than cure" sort of thing.... I have not heard of anything like a program for adults in Oz....

This is not correct. The vaccines are for 2-3 of the strains, the cancerous ones that do not show visibly in any way. As far as I can recall right now there are 8 main strains. The ones generating warts are not cancerous.

 

That is for the standard vaccine here in Norway, I guess the one available in Belgium is new?

 

But of course, for younger women it is a great plus - provided they get the shots before ever having sex! :-)

I hereby wanted to give you an update on the topic I started.

 

I started this topic back in january with the words I catched HPV 9 months before starting this topic. before the current status I want to assure you the dates on this topic are correct. I started this topic beginning of january this year, discovered the warts first in march last year and today we are October 14, 2014.

 

Since March last year I have had (a rough estimate):

- around 30 sessions at the dermatologist (freezing-cryo)

- about 40 sessions at uriology (lasering them away and applying anti viral medicine 'INSIDE" by a 8 tube!)

- numberous HPV vaccinations at abot 120 Euro each

 

Last week I have been found all clear from the wrats one month after the last ones were taken away. The first time ever in the last 18 month!!  The lasering they had to do to keep this under control might have consequences in 1 or 2 years but I'd rather not think about this. To excited for the moment. Especially seem the fact I am on the plane to los in exactly a week from now.

 

My thinking about how I got it:

Even i had been 1 time to los before finding the warts, i am convinced i did not get them there. I went to a local massage place in Belgium about 3 months before i had the first warts. I did take the full service but wrapped up. Like I have been reading on the forum, if something smells not fresh bail out. I acknowledge. Her thing was not smelling well at all but decided anyway to proceed

 

Consequences for me related to this. (Please no comments about betray on my ex wife. If you would know her you would get it):

• Divorce settlement signed (talks were already going before
• treats to loose the right to see my son over this
• My ex had more assets then me so no loss in this respect. Worth nothing I did not pursue my legal right in the divorce. (getting rid of the inlaws was a priority. GO FIGURE)
• I found a Thai girlfriend already who is great for me (no cynical feedback neede here. Good thai girls does exist) She works for Thai airways, is self proficient and does everything. Even doing my laundry when i go out to have a drink after she did a 14 hour shift. Makes me feel guilty. No, she is not an old tart. She just turned 25, and i am 34.

 

What did I learn from it:

• Medically it has been bad and made me desperate
• personnaly i had some diffcult time
• but finally it has resulted in the best thing that could have happened to me (indeed never had another lady ever since)
• Last but not least, a condom not protect you about everything. If you wanna bareback... well... Assess what are the risk you wanna take. Starting a new topic will not give a customized risk rating...

Hope my experience is usefull to some people

I've read tea tree oil can remove warts

Please be aware that Vistide which is the brand name for Cidofovir can be very dangerous and should only be administered/used under the direction of a doctor. Administered intravenously there have been cases of complete renal failure after just two doses. The creme/gel has been successful in treating resistant Herpes, usually found in HIV positive people and in penile wart control. However it is not something I would purchase and use without consulting a doctor.
