Yes, the boat is required.  I suppose you could swim out there, but it would be hard yakka in your golfing attire!

 

Does not really slow up play, they use a call up system, when the group in front gets there.  You hit on to the green (maybe), they then putt out while you make your way to the jetty, they return, out you go, and so it goes on.  Jai yen yen.

 

Works very well, may take an extra few minutes, but everybody is in the same boat (pardon the pun), so mi pen rai.

I have also had the pleasure of standing next to Henrik Stenson and watched him hit his 3 wood,as well as every club in his bag.

He hits it so hard he doesn't need to worry about driver.Especially at Amata.

The groups run 12 minutes so the boat is a non issue.

We got to the tee when the boat was docking letting out the group in front.

I am an invited guest,so no,I can't get you on there.Sorry.

Maybe when I join when I retire.
