A man attacked and tried to rape a Roiet woman in her room. He used a knife and tried to force her into having sex but she resisted and kicked him off the bed.

PATTAYA – December 25, 2013 [PDN]; at 1.30 p.m. Pol. Lt. Col. Kiettisak Sathong-oy (Deputy Superintendent of Pattaya city police station, Chonburi province) was notified that there was an incident were an assailant tried to rape a young woman in her apartment in area of south Pattaya so he rushed to inspect at scene.

At the incident the officers found Ms. A (alias) was standing frightened in her room and she had wounds to her right fingers and left ear which had been cut by a knife. The officers inspected her room and found 1 pair of black court shoes and 1 blue-white short sleeved T-shirt with a flowery pattern on so they kept them for evidence.

Upon questioning Ms. A (the victim) said that she is unemployed because she has a foreign husband supporting her. Before the incident occurred she was sleeping in her room and she was only wearing lingerie and the door was ajar. Suddenly she woke up and a male teenager, aged approximately 20-25, was sitting astride on her and his upper body was naked, he was wearing only navy blue pants and used a knife which he put to her neck and tried to force her into having sex. So she saluted to plead for her life but when the assailant was inadvertent (careless) so she pushed and kicked him away cutting her fingers and left ear. The assailant then fell on the fell on the ground and ran to the window at the back of the room and jumped down to the ground floor to flee the scene.

Later, the police team and volunteer police had decentralised to look for the assailant but there was no trace of him. However, initially, the officers inspected all the evidence that were a shirt and court shoes which the culprit left behind. The officers assumed that the attacker might be the employee of a hotel in Pattaya city and the officers will coordinate with the detection police team in order to follow up to arrest and prosecute him further according to the Thai law.
