They want to expose some of the difficulties and prejudice inherent in the process of a Thai getting a visa for the UK.

I think you may have 2 problems, the first I dont know of any specific prejudice to Thai,s getting a visa, its a worldwide issue for anyone wanting to get a UK visa. What they should concentrate on is,  government policies, the bureaucracy and the extortionate costs involved in getting anyone a visa. I think the other one, who is willing to go on national TV and admit to marrying or having a prostitute GF from soi 6 and wanting a visa. I think it took alot of guts to do what you did, but I dont think thier will be many followers

Well maybe you are right . . .of course lots of Thais want visas not just prostitutes 555

I have a friend who is coming to Pattaya in April this year, to get married, shes not in the sex industry, but works for fujitsu, He doesnt earn the minimum amount of £18.500 needed to get a settlement visa, He earns £15,000 He is hoping that the government loses its appeal against the courts unfair decision earlier this year If they are interested in following how he goes and the processes he has to get through I will ask him if he is interested,

Russ, sorry bout your situation . . .why was the visa refused? What was the process?

 

The show will be on Ch 4.

 

It was second time lucky with our application. It was just that there was no reason to turn it down the first time. The result means my GF is spending the winter in London rather than the summer. It was refused the first time on grounds that she may fail to return at the end of the 6 months. Our circumstances make us both very good risks - so it was most frustrating. I'll PM you some of the reasons why.

 

And Bill, yes, no more 3 day trips until at least April!
