England v Wales FA Cup Final dilemma ?

Recommended Posts

Assuming Cardiff reach the FA Cup Final at wembley for the first time, will the FA play England's traditional national anthem ? what has been traditionally played at every FA Cup final since its beginning, or will they please the Welsh by playing both "The Land Of My Fathers" (Welsh) and "God save our Queen" (English)

And if they only play the English national anthem, will the Welsh stand and respect it ?

They will probably play God save the queen as that is the British national athem as well as the english athem. the actual English national Athem is Land of hope and glory.

Cardiff won't get there anyway. :CatDance1:

Have to say the English National anthem is the most boring af all time, so maybe they could compromise and play a couple of Tom Jones tracks?

I think the they will play the National Anthem aswell as Abide with me. I don't think they change the format.

I will ask my contact in the FA if Cardiff get there if they decide to sing the Welsh anthem.

That's a very interesting point. I'm sure they will just stick to tradition and play the English national anthem, due to the fact they play in our league anyway.
