Dear friends... Christmas is fast approaching and we're having a party to celebrate it on Xmas day 25th December.

We will be open as normal for Chinese food from 12:00 then at 20:00 (8pm) the festivities start.

Curryoke at the Wok N Rok will kick off at 8pm. And the curries, rice, chips and chicken wings in succulent honey chilli sauce will be FREE. Yes free quality Chinese food after 8pm.

There will be live music and a karaoke.

Our ladies will be dressed for the festive period and I'm happy to say the stunning young lady from Bangkok (The Thai Bridget Bardot) who helped us on our opening night will be there to keep your eyes happy..and she's bringing friends.

Help us make Christmas day 2013 a special party :Drunk1: :Drunk1:

A win win situation in my opinion ( if you do not like it move on if you do free food and ( if you like them BF the Girls) ) I have been there it is a small place however after one visit I like it the guy and his thai wife who cooks and runs the place are very friendly and looking to improve the service given ( listening  to "constructive" criticism).

Guys go take a look take your BF there IMO its a good place to eat ( they do thai food for the Thais)  and take a beer or two  before you go back to your room for some fun 5555555.

I wonder how many establishments will follow this "promotion" FREE FOOD "lets see good luck to WOK and ROCK IMO you are on the right track.

We aim to please.

Happy to give free QUALITY Chinese Western food to our patrons.

Come and experience our curries. In my and our customers opinion the best Chinese curry ever to arrive in Pattaya. In fact I'll go a step further and say this curry is unique! This is a 'hybrid' made from scratch by our Chef and Chinese Chefs. Never attempted or done before to our knowledge.

Christamas day at Wok N Rok... Free food, great prices on drinks, and staff to keep you entertained.

The party starts at 8pm.

And there are a posse of babes just arrived from Bangkok to keep you entertained and in party mood...

Merry Xmas to all on the forum.

Saw the place today. What is UK chinese food? Is that like an authentic british indian curry?

Ok. Will step by for dinner in the next 30 minutes. I am hungry

Ok. So i order a starter and main dish. Both come out same time.

Spring rolls. Medium size compared to thenplace on chayapoon (is it chow choy?) But 1 extra and good taste

Chicken shezuan. Bland but afterburner. Chicken seems more cooked in water and then after added to the wok. No taste to the chicken at all. Was not asked if i wanted rice with it. Had to order after. 30 baht for a cup of rice? Should be included in the main dish price just. Sorry just not good enough whatever your excuse is. Charge a bit more on the main dish if that is the reason.

Upside itbis a big portion. I left half and did not pick out the meat pieces left. That says it all.

Boss lady offered a free drink but no thanks, gesture apprecuated as it had nothing to do with the food experience.

Overall verdict: yeap uk chinese. Remember now why i prefer the dutch chinese or the chinese chinese.

The mix of bar and restaurant does not do it for me. Atmosphere was friendly, girls below average to average but music on nice level and the girls did seem happy enough. Just hope this wqs not the bkk girls you shuttled in

Over and out from wok and rok. Let me go to a place that rocks. To eqrly for viking and paradise so will see what eocks my boat till then.

Oh the wifi is free. As it should be.

Sir. We serve UK Chinese food. Not Dutch. If you have to ask if UK Chinese food is like British Indian Curry then I think there's an answer in there somewhere?

The rice dishes are on the menu.

Thanks for all who attended last night it was a good party. And yes the Ladies from Bangkok were great they know how to party.

Cheers...

I thought chinese food was that:) chinese food :) but understood the meaning having lived in the UK for long time. From your posts i had not caught on to it, only on the sign above the door and therefore the question. And the indian curry remark was the authentic part.

Wish you best of luck in your venture.

Thanks very much.

Where we can make changes and improve we will.

The deciscion to add a seperate rice menu wasn't taken lightly. In the UK some but by all means not all will add boiled rice for example at an extra cost.

The problem we had with this is some customers want fried rice. Some want egg fried rice. Some want chips and some want special fried rice. The variables are too many and costs differ to make each dish. We thought it better to keep our prices reasonable and add a rice menu.

I hope this clears up the reason we have a seperate rice dish menu.

Add an add on list for other items then steamed rice. Standard with steamed rice, add an extra price for others. Just my 2p and i only eat in restaurants on average 5 days a week. Or somehow Make it more clear it does not come with standard steamed rice. I was surprised which gave a negative experience.

Good point IMO if you wish to "up the side dish "then you pay more, if you don't wish to have the package meal the rice is deducted this would stop wastage and the extra expense of paying for rice you did not need i suspect this is the reason it is not excluded.  In the listing (to save you paying for something you do not like to have).

if the overall cost is the same I do not see the problem.

A little more complicated and I see why the owner has just given the option that YOU pick the side dish. as a side note a lot of UK establishments   offer 50/50 rice and chips with meals. I do not sees it on offer here.

You'll need to buy a ticket to the Western World to get anything remotely comparable though... that could prove pricier.

You'll need to buy a ticket to Europe to get the same quality though... that could prove pricier.

I am in Europe most of my time and to be honest it beats the German Chinese anyway (they also offer pommel with it but standard with rice) and to the quality? UK Chinese is not the best Chinese, it is just what the people in the UK are familiar with. And I have had some great Chinese food in China (surprise) but never in the UK. We had the discussion earlier about Dutch Chinese which is different as they are more Indonesian influenced. Since around 1985 they started also to offer more real Chinese dishes to cater for the Chinese itself. In those years you had to ask for the separate menu to order. This is more authentic then the UK version. Nowadays almost every Chinese in the Netherlands offer the more authentic dishes but one of the best used to be in utrecht on vredenburg. Not sure it is still there. As to get same quality you said? Well the spring rolls were on par with chow soi, but the main dish was bland, though sauce a bit of an afterburner the chicken was tasteless. Have had better food in pattaya which came with rice :) Sent from my GT-N7105 using Tapatalk

Once again...we serve UK Chinese food. Quality UK Chinese food that sees constant repeat custom. Some night after night.

If you have a problem paying an extra 30 baht for boiled rice or it annoys you having to order seperately then. Fine.

We will not change this on our menu so happy eating elsewhere.
