Israeli Man Arrested For Stealing From Department Store

An Israeli man who purchased a knitted cap in Mike Shopping Mall then stole another one whilst the staff went to pay for him. He was apprehended by security.

PATTAYA – December 16,2013 [PDN]; at 18.20, Pol.Lt.Capt. Panuwat Jaitiangtae, detective officer of Pattaya police station, Chonburi was reported by a security guard of Mike Shopping mall, beach road, moo 9, Nongprue, Banglamoong, Chonburi, that he had apprehended a foreigner who was suspected of stealing in the mall. The police went to check.
In the security room, on the ground floor the staff was holding a Mr. Daniel Mesholam, 56 years old, Israeli. He had bruises on his body from fighting due to him lot letting the staff search his bag. The staff found a brand name blue flower printed knitted cap, worth 690 baht.

From asking Mr.Sompong Iampinyo, 52 years old, the cashier in the mall, he said that the man was looking at the knitted caps at the booth, on the second floor, and bought one of that for 790 baht. He then asked the staff to go to the counter to pay for him but when they returned with the change and hat the man took the cap and rushed down the stairs. The staff were curious, so they checked the stock and found there was cap missing so he reported the security guard to capture the man, he was stopped at the entrance but the man fought back.

From asking Mr.Daniel, he still refused that he had stolen the cap, but there was already clear evidence, so the police controlled him and he will prosecuted further according to Thai law.
