Plastic Recycling Plant Fire Causes 50 Million Baht Worth Of Damage

At a plastic recycling plant an electrical transformer exploded and burst into flames causing over 50 million THB worth of damage. It took fire fighters more than 4 hours to bring the fire under control.

SRIRACHA – 16 December,2013 [PDN]; Pol.Col.Montree Rodpranee, director of Bowin, Sricha police station, was reported that the recycling plant called K.P.S., located on the number 234/ 13 Moo . 4 , Bowin , Sriracha, Chonbur, was on fire so he coordinated with the fire department in the area, to stop the fire,consisting Surasakmontree municipality, Bowin and Mabyaporn sub district Administration Organization, Hemraj estate, who sent10 fire trucks to fight the fire.
The fire was at a warehouse of plastic and iron auto spares, the fire was raging out of control. The staff injected a water supply to prevent the fire spreading to other points and coordinated to other estates in Sriracha municipality,for the fire extinguishing foam truck. It took more than 4 hours to stop the fire.

Upon asking Mr. Wachira Konrak, the assistant village head, at Moo 4 , Bowin said that some workers heard a transformer blow up, and then burst into flames. So he coordinated the fire departments from the neighborhood to help extinguish the fire but it was too intense.

From the investigation, the owner of the factory was Mrs.Nonglak Singtaklong, 52 years old, said the factory collected grade A plastic to export, the employees were preparing to export to foreign countriest. Preliminary, the estimated fire damage was around 50 million baht .
