Amending the conditions of a work permit

Hi there. Does anyone have experience with a situation like this? I have an existing work permit for my existing business which allows me to basically go about my day without fear of any immigration hassles. I want to buy a second business which is in a different industry. when my work permit comes up for renewal in a few months, I would like to amend the conditions on it to also cover my new business so that i can legally do stuff on behalf of either business without fear of breaking the law. Is that possible without having to apply for a whole new work permit? I just want to change it from "authorzed to work at business a" to "authorized to work at either business a or business b"

 

a followup to that question : what if my work permit is tied to a limited company (mine already is) and the COMPANY buys the second business. Would I then be ALREADY covered without amending anything, since I'm still working for my authorized company, just at two different subsidiaries?
