Newbie 1st trip to Pattaya

Booked in April. 10 days. During Songkran. Didn't realize all girls go home during that time. But I'm sure I'll still manage to have a decent time. A friend recommended that I just spend my entire stay in Pattaya since I have such a short time there. I would like to do some temple, elephant, Muay Thai, etc tours for obligatory take home photos. Also, would like to stay at a place that's located in the most convenient (fun, sights, food, wifi) area and is free of insects. It would be great if the place had a social pool (penthouse?) or was conducive to multiplying the fun factor. Fetish hotels would be cool too.

 

Any thoughts and advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Convenient  areas would be soi LK Metro, soi Bua  khao around soi diana and soi honey inn OR near Walking Street.  Second road is also good option close to Mike's shopping or around Central Mall.  There are a lot of options depending what your budget is.  Check Agoda.com for hotel facilities etc.  like pool and wifi.  Many hotels have or can arrange tours to attractions around pattaya like Nong nooch, sanctuary of truth, mini siam or tiffany's etc.  you will find brochures in most of the hotels.  Eating is no problem.  Tons of places to choose from Hilton to street food and everything in between.  Street food is really good and safe if you are into thai food.  And plenty of girls still around during songkran.  it is a bit crazy but fun if you don't mind getting wet.  Maybe you will find your honey to show you around during day time.  Good luck and have fun

Google for hotels and came up with one on Soi 8 that has nice reviews. Sunshine hotel. $43usd a night. Doesn't sound like a bad deal.

My tastes are steering me towards Pennthouse hotel but I'm not keen on the reviews.

Nova Platinum is in a good location. Nice modern style rooms, large swim up bar pool, and very close walk into Walking Street. Baht buses out the front heading left, go all the way up second road past all the good spots 10 baht, and the baht buses on the opposite side of the street head down to Jomtien Beach for daytime relaxing...

It's right next to the biggest mall in Pattaya.When you don't want to get wet,walk to the mall after 11am.

In the afternoon use the pool,then go to your room and get ready for the night.

Yeah I check tripadvisor and reviews for lots of places seem hit or miss.
