I'm a big fan of projectors. The screen size scales up to preference, they are portable - easy to pick up for a party, and just impressive. When your projector is off you have all your floorspace free!

I bought a Toshiba NPW20B from tech city [the store on top of Tukcom], and I've been very happy with it. I mostly used it to play xbox360 - Just Dance with one girl who LOVED to dance. Needless to say that girl and I stopped seeing each other about a week after...

Since then I used it to play Thai TV when I had multiple guests, and it works a treat to entertain a large group.

The projector is great, can see it during the day time even with curtains open so long as their isn't a direct beam of sunlight on the screen and I only use the "economy" mode. Its a "short throw", meaning it has a big fish eye lens on it, so you only have to have it 50cm from the wall, which is very convenient. If you mount it on the ceiling then you can basically walk right up to the wall without getting in the way of the light [another benefit of short throw].

Specs: 1280x800 [slightly bigger then 720P]

3D: 3D ready [which is a bullshit term, meaning its not 3D, but it could be]

Bulb life: 5000 hours [i've used about 80 hours on the bulb].

Manufacturer information: http://pc.toshiba-asia.com/accessories/projectors/projector_npw20b

So, I'd recommend a projector. The Tech City at the top of TukCom has a big display of 8 [but none of them are on demonstrating....] to choose from.

Since having this setup for Thai Movies is overkill I'm happy to sell my barely used [80 hour] projector on [we can talk about a fair price over PM if you [or anyone else] is interested]. Mostly nowadays it sits in its carrying case, alone, neglected!

Wikipedia has a great chart comparing the different resolution sizes : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/720p
