Hello Pattaya Addicts, I am a long time lurker, never poster LOL.....

I have been to Thailand twice now and I am in the process of getting a Education Visa to learn Thai and stay longterm!

My problem is my Visa Application needs someone to contact in thailand! I don't really have any friends or family there.... Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I just go to thailand on a 60day T-Visa then meet some friends and then get a ED visa?

Just go , go to a school sign up and they arrange your ED visa .

you can tee everything up from home and and post your application in the mail

if you are interested, I can recommend a good school that will take care of everything for a very good price. pm, me

Another quick question if anyone knows :D

Will I have any problems comming into the country on a Tourist visa, then applying for and getting a ED visa while in the country? I know I will probably have to leave the country again to apply right?

Thanks guys!

I just enrolled in Thai Language school .. The school took care of everything concerning the visa process ... Took copies of every page of my passport ... Had me fill in some forms with name and address etc ... Sign every page ... That was it ...

... Took 2 weeks for Thai Government to process the paperwork ..

... Then over night Visa run to Laos ..

... All good and easy ..

.. The only thing they asked me for was a copy of my lease/ rental agreement ( which I do not have) .. So I just googled "Thai/English rental agreement"

Printed it out and made up some info .. Worked fine

..wait until you get here to do all this ..school will walk you through it .

permallama  .. get a 60 day visa before you come .. or you will need to do a visa run before the paper work is finished

Same report I stole, but including the links to d/l the forms.

Unclear about the RULES re' direct linking to other forums.   :WhoSaw1:

PS - Have you seen Reg has surfaced?

Posted

^^ Yup - I failed to do a meticulous search of all recent posts before slamming in with mine.

Dunno about direct linking - nothing in the Lools about that? Maybe Vessey could

put his philatelic tweezers down for a mo' and clarify.

Noticed Big Reg was back ashore: I hope he brings his usual sunshine to this week'sinevitable re-run of 'getting it for free' and 'My unspoken love for Nick Clegg'.

What larks, Pip!

Thanks for the links guys :-)

I will make a point of transferring my money from USA to a my Thai Bank before taking it out the ATM

(something I should have been doing a long time ago anyway ... I am being RAPED with bank/ATM fees)

I already have my Visa :-) so I do not know if I need to apply again anytime soon :-)

Just renew it over and over ..

.. I saw a some good advice reading one of the links that said .. "One month in Thailand, one month in Cambodia" :-)

then you skip all Visa requirements all together .. :-)

Thanks again for the heads up :-)

I had not seen this, I have been reading the thread @ http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/691465-stricter-requirements-new-application-forms-for-ed-visa-extensions/page-3

I own a property have monthly rental income, and have savings, Albeit nothing to brag about .... Do you guys think any problems will arrise? I have plenty of money to live for plenty of years without work, I hope the ED visa works because I want to legitimately learn.

Also it seems like as long as I get to it right when I get in town rather then doing some visa runs and waiting a few of them to actually enroll should make sure I don't have any problems.
