Best area, Best hotel, good value?

I have had tentative reservations for Jan 14 - 28 at the P*ntouse hotel. I was told it was a fun place in the thick of things. I have recently been told it is a Ladyboy hangout. To each his own but not my cup of tea, AT ALL!

 

I have been suggested that the LK area is great and so is the Soi 6, 7, 8 area. Most of the things I have read seem to be from travelers who have only been in one place, or from members with past info. Can I please get some other current oopinions and why? Thanks. I looked in some archives in several sites but I need info on current times. Thanks so much.

Lots of good areas in Patts , try and find one on the baht bus route , it makes it easier to get back to the hotel
