There all fergies players -1 .the same squad are last year's champions.not sure if it's the changes in the background staff or team tactics but somethings not working and needs sorting fast before the rot sets in

They won the prem easily last season with this team, maybe its true what people are saying about referees not being intimidated now

To be a top team Utd need to have a great defensive midfielder a creative midfielder, and a consistant pairing of centre halves.

 

Without Carrick in the last 2 games,no Paul Scholes from last year and a continual rotation of centre halves...Utd are not

the same team as in previous seasons.Take Rooney out of the team and a half fit RVP and you have a mid table team.

 

The old back room staff had been carefully picked by AF and should have been retained for at least one more season,

to provide some continuity from years of success...why fix something that is not broken.

 

Moyes is a good manager but Utd need a great manager

Oh i am enjoying watching the bewildered unbelieving looks on the faces of the united supporters, as the ref blows the whistle on another united loss....

 

They can't seem to fathom that being at the top is not a god given right, it's not something that goes on forever, and that things go in cycles and united's cycle at the top has come to an end....

 

Now its the time of decline for the club, just watch the bloodsucking Glaziers drain the club of profits......

 

Sure there will no doubt be a bit of panic buying in an attempt to remain at the top, but can Moyes put a team together that can remain at the top, i think not....it's going to be struggle st around Old Trafford for a long time now....

 

Should they sack Moyes?....  if they don't get Champions League, i think they will....well i also think Roy Hodgson will be looking for a job after the world cup....i can just hear it now the sound of  "WOY WOY WOY HE'S OUR BOY" ringing out from around Old Trafford., in appreciation of their new manager......

I can't believe that there is a Moyes out thread already - this is the problem with modern football, lose a few games then fans want the manager sacked. Managers need time to settle in and change the playing structure.

 

I never noticed the fans asking for him to be sacked during the recent 12 game unbeaten run which included a 0-5 away win in Germany.

 

The fear factor has gone now that Fergie has left and teams believe that they can beat United.

 

It would be interesting to see how United service their debt without the additional revenue from Champions league football.

 

As a non premiership fan watching United struggle is good for the Premiership as it enables another team to challenge for honours.

I would like to congratulate everyone for finding the sports section. There is a thread running by Jocky King since, oh let's say last July, which has about 273 posts so far called English Premier league 2013/14. It seems a lot of new found football fans have appeared out of the 'woodwork' of late.

Fergie leaving was always going to leave a massive void, no manager would just step into his shoes and sustain that success he had. If he was still manager Man U would be much higher in the league, i'm convinced of it as every player in the squad wants to play for and go the extra mile for him.  He demanded respect. He was a one off.

I'm not so sure they will go the extra mile for Moyes, or show him the same respect. For now anyway.

 

Like others have said above i would like to see him get more time, possibly to the end of the season to see if he can earn that respect and add a few new players of his own in January to see how they go. United will not win this league now anyway so they might as well give him the time.  

Personally i think Moyes will be a success but it was never going to happen right off in my opinion.

Jinx, you make your point very well, certainly not baying for Moyes s' blood but he does appear to be caught up in the spotlight a bit, don't think he himself believes that this team can win the premiership, he needs to project that belief first.

Look on the bright side after 11 years he saw Everton win at Old Trafford

 

he has inherited an aging side that over performed last season and to this he overpaid and added Fellani who is not a Utd type player. Was also saddled with Zaha who was a bad Fergie buy.

I started this topic right after watching my team being played off the park by Newcastle. Thought I might have calmed a little now but I haven't so here goes RANT 2. We have now lost 23 points from only 15 games this season, we only lost 25 points in the WHOLE of last season. For all those pro Moyes this time last year this exact same group of players were strolling to the league title, the new manager & his gormless looking coaching staff (yes Phil Neville I'm looking at you) (obviously not Giggs who remains an absolute legend as well as one of our best players at 40) have to shoulder the responsibility for this. & finally failure to qualify for the champions league will cost the club between £70-90 mil. This money helps to service the Glaziers debt, the loss of this money will surely mean the off loading of our most valuable players & severely limit any potential new signings.

Out of interest , how old are you , would be interesting to know if you have only known success as a fan

early 30's watched my 1st man utd game as a young kid just as sir Alex had taken over & have been a lifelong fan ever since. 1st went to old Trafford b4 all the success & watched fergie turn us from mid table mediocrity into the great club we are now. & would hate to see us turn into the next Liverpool, not winning a title for the next 20 years & living on past glories talking fondly about how great we used to be. I don't think Moyes will be sacked b4 the end of the season, but if we miss out on the top 4 (as looks inevitable) & all that champions league cash I think the Glaziers will have to act & bring in someone up to the job.
