There is a shop at the back road of big c north pattaya ( it has a lot of concrete garden animals  outside).

Go to the back of the shop there are many there, stainless steel, big and small and some lightweight ones.

if you get out of the central part of town over to the dark side you will see lots of shops with a variety of stuff for sale, lots of plastic containers, brooms pots and pans, almost every one of those places will have what you are looking for.

Thanks guy's I will pick one up on my next trip.

Yes you are correct you can get (some) at these "shops" however most of these shop owners will buy them from the shop I mentioned or BK market and add 10%.

The shop I listed has about 30 different types and about 500 on display (well worth a look IMO).

I will take a photo when next in town and post it.

I have two from there A very big one 6 can use it with ease and a small one ideal for two.

The big shop you mentioned over by big c is a good place to go for lots of stuff, almost all the dishes I have right now were bought there. I don't think it's where most of the other Thai 'variety shops' get their stuff wholesale, though I may be wrong. Trying to run a business on only a 10% markup from your wholesale price is a recipe for bankruptcy.

Prices for a lot of stuff varies from shop to shop, but not by a whole lot.

It's an interesting walkabout but little more than a junk shop.

If you got a full set of dishes un-chipped you did very well.

I don't think we are talking about the same place. There is a a section of deep discount seconds, and a lot of cheaply made stuff, but there is a lot of good quality stuff on offer that is really well priced. It's nothing fancy though, I'll give you that. They have the same dishes I have seen in hotel rooms, bars and restaurants all over town. Not where I'd go for a nice set of china, but absolutely where I'd go for regular dishes for day to day use. I can't speak to the firebucket section as I have not looked for them there specifically, but the place is HUGE, floor space easily would equal a football field and there are multiple levels.

Here is a link to the place I'm talking about.

Yeah, that's it.

I thought I'd covered most of it but maybe not. I saw so many damaged items I couldn't understand why they wouldn't just bin them.

The cutlery my girlfriend bought mysteriously gave me the power of Uri Geller.

Had some cool looking fountains for sale outside though.

Super Big c extra by the main highway has them . Also the cooking supply shop near that location has them . The market going into naklua has them from small to giant size . I would try the restaurant supply shop on second road near Walking Street first.

The item is cheap 150-250 depending on size .

haha yeah one set of cutlery we bought there was like eating with a tinfoil fork, some others I have were fine though. On the other hand some stuff I have bought at big c has been crap too. TiT,  inspect closely b4 you buy :)
