Has anyone been to Koh Samet since the oil spill?  I am thinking of booking a room for a few days there and was wondering if it still stinks of oil and how the beaches are affected there.  Any info is appreciated!

I just got back from there last week and the place was fine. It may depend on where you stay as the oil spill was on the opposite side of the island from Sai Kaew beach which is where I stayed. I did some snorkeling and plenty of swimming and it was all good. Book you room and enjoy.

II was there at August/September and everything was ok.
