Guys travelling to BKK from Perth with Thai Airways in early December. I was wondering what the deal is with golf clubs. I bought a Golf Travel bag which fits my clubs, clothes and everything else I need all in the 1 bag.

My question is..

am I still allowed only 20kgs(economy Class) or am I allowed extra due to having the clubs aswell???

Would be interested to hear from anyone that has any idea about this.....cheers guys

ps Im expecting the weight could possibly be about 25kgs.

Sporting Equipment

Passengers carrying any sporting equipment as part of their checked luggage should contact THAI Reservations on 1300 651 960 for more information on related excess charges and methods of package for carriage.  Such items include bicycles, surfboards, water skis, snow skis, golfing equipment, scuba diving equipment to name a few.  Wind surfing equipment may be carried but special arrangements should be made for this and it is suggested that this be sent as cargo rather than checked baggage.

That comes from Thai airways based in Australia... Try this Number. Hope it helps.

Cheers for that Jocky I will give them a call. I was just hoping that a BM may have had previous experience with this.

I have.

The price from Denmark is just a joke. Nearly the samme as the ticket in first place. This is one of the reasons I don't travel Thai anymore.

One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got in my pajamas, I don't know

Just a quick update. I contacted Thai Airways and was told that 1 set of clubs can be included in your allowance. An "Airport Waiver" of an additional 10kgs allowing a total of 30kgs per passenger. Hope that may help someone.
