What hotels have you stayed at and had the room cleaned late in the afternoon?

August Suites.

Butchers arms...although that's not strictly an hotel.

And probably plenty more that i didn't realise did so.Got to admit though it is a big plus when you know you can stay in your room till late, and still have your room cleaned.

At most hotels the regular chambermaids work until 4 p.m.

(There are always some other chambermaids for emergencies.)

If you really don’t want to be disturbed, send your sweetheart with a tip to the chambermaids to ask for fresh towels and to tell them they can clean the room next day.

Everybody happy.

Generally if I stay in a larger hotel the maids are cleaning all day. So they clean when I leave the room. Although this sometimes results in noise in the hall in the AM. I've had more problems in small guesthouses where the maid(s) like to clean the small number of rooms on THEIR schedule. Although this is not true of all small guesthouses. I've stayed in condos where I had to schedule room cleanings. I always scheduled it in the afternoon but still there are times when a schedule is inconvenient.

+1

Sheraton / Hilton will pretty much clean when you leave your room during reasonable hours, and if unreasonable you can call housekeeping and they will do it.

Small guest houses: I've had good success tipping 50/100B every day, and the staff quickly learns to watch for you to leave. In a small family run guest house, I stayed at, they would do the cleaning in the morning, I got up and managed to get out of the door by 6pm; After the first two days they kept an eye out for me and managed to clean my room every day. This is long after they finished cleaning the other rooms, They don't like leaving money on the table.
