Excursions

The Areca Lodge has an extensive catalog offering all kinds of excursions. Anyone used such a service and is it worth the money? (whether from the Areca or another hotel) Or would it be better (cheaper) just to flag a taxi to drive you to the spot of your choice and arrange everything yourself from that point?

Depends on the amount of effort vs money.

 

Booking thru the hotel will probably be more expensive, but less hassle.

Doing it yourself is fun but can be tricky trying to get there and back, should be cheaper.

 

Not many taxis in Pattaya mainly Baht buses that will take you where you want to go for a price (barter), problem is getting back.

 

I try to do it myself but I hire motobikes or cars, which is an aventure in itself.
