A mad Ubon Ratchathanee woman was arrested for stabbing an 8-year old girl to death during the Tae Krajad festival in front of Bangkok’s Mahannopparam Temple. The knife stuck in her shoulder, so the rescuers rushed her to Klang Hospital, but she died later.

PRANAKORN SRI AYUTTHAYA – November 10, 2013 [PDN]; Police of Samranrat Police Station, were notified of a crime with a knife when a mad woman stabbed an 8-year old child’s neck, causing serious injury. This crime occurred, in front of Bangkok’s Mahannopparam Temple in Tanao, (Chaoporsuea sub district), in Phranakorn District so, they speedily went to investigate.

At the temple, there was a festival near the Chaoporsuea Shrine, and they found a long trail of blood on the stairs leading up to women’s bathroom. But at the front wall of the temple found an 8 years old girl named Orathai Limsakul, wearing a pink striped dark brown shirt and brown cartoon printed shorts. She had been stabbed with a 7-inch (13cm) long small knife in her right collar bone and the knife had become stuck, so the rescuers rushed her directly to Klang Hospital, but unfortunately she died later.

After this, detectives captured the suspect, 25-years old, M/s. Patcharin Pachorp, who looked like she was homeless and insane, but she was living in the temple, so the police took her in for questioning. After the stabbing, people saw her run off from that side of the temple, looking like she was in shock. However, the people who came to the festival captured her and sent her to the police to be investigated.

Later, at 5.30 pm, the police questioned another lady named M/s. Patcharin Noochorp, but she talked in a roundabout fashion, so the police concluded that M/s. Patcharin Pachorp had lived in Ubon Ratchathanee with her parents. She then came to live in Bangkok for a while, but she stayed with her friends, so they didn’t know where, until she came to the festival for a gift giving. However, the police were not convinced, and they would follow up questioning with her parents and relatives for testimonies. Police stated that they would also send her to the psychiatry hospital to check if she really was insane.

Meanwhile 36-years old Mrs. Somying Saelao, the mother of the child, plus Mr.Kung Kokearee, who is her step-father, came to visit the suspect, but they insisted that they had never known of her before the killing.

However, police officers will prosecute M/s. Patcharin Pachorp for killing someone intentionally, by using a bladed weapon. They have sent her to Ratchada Criminal Court, but if she is really insane, they will send her for psychiatric treatment until she is normal and then she will be prosecuted and face penalties . It is up to the discretion of the court to consider further steps, which makes the outcome of this case very difficult to predict.
