Recently I've read some comments regarding yeast infections. In the past I've had farang GF's who have had them. When they did we would just shut down sex until it cleared up.

 

So, I've read if you do have sex there can be a white creamy discharge which is caused by the infection. The way I understand it is that Candida is present, even essential in all of our bodies. However sometimes a change in the body can create an environment in which the Candida grows out of control. Very often anti-biotics are the cause of this imbalance. The imbalance can cause many different symptoms from bloating to athletes foot and of course thrush.

 

I believe the normal test for Candida is via a microscope, something you are not likely to have in your bedroom. personally I would try to protect myself by making my body less likely to let Candida take control which might be more practical than testing every woman you sleep with. Be especially wary if you have recently taken anti-biotics, wash and dry yourself thoroughly after sex.

 

You can buy natural preparations in health shops that contain ingredients known to combat excess Candida, maybe if you took some of these while on holiday they might be enough to stop it getting a hold somewhere it isn't supposed to be. Garlic also helps so maybe the odd Muu Thawt Krathiam Phrik Thai (Pepper Garlic Pork) while in Thailand will help or just plain old garlic capsules.

 

I would say the above would make more sense than trying to avoid something that is hard to detect and already present in your body. I am not a Dr. I am just saying how I would deal with the situation.

For the record, guys can and very often do get yeast infections (eg Thrush). I got it of my ex wife. She accused me of having herpes and gave me loads of shit for having an affair Your dick will get red and splotchy, occasional minor white discharge and its itchy as fuck.

 

She insisted we go to the doctors togeather which we did. Doctor confirmed it was thrush and that as she was suffering from it at the time, she was the likely source of my infection. Easily cured with a tube of canestan cream. Oh, and did she ever say sorry? No Chance.

Sure, that will help but Candida is not an STD, it could still take hold on the skin at the base of your dick that isn't covered by a condom. Candida only normally takes hold as a skin infection when the environment in the body is right for it to do so, ie too much sugar in the blood due to diabetes, hot sweaty body parts or if your internal flora (the microbes that help digest your food) is out of balance because of anti-biotics. remember we all have Candida in our bodies already in the digestive tract where it is actually good for us. The problem is when it gets out of control and spreads to parts of the body it shouldn't be. If your body is in tip top condition Candida from an external source (ie a BG) will not take hold on your skin or in your throat.

 

Think of it like rats in an alley feeding on rubbish. Rather than shoot the rats one by one if you remove their food source (The rubbish) the rats will disappear. Candida needs the right environment to get out of control. It is well worth avoiding this happening as once it does get a grip it is a major job to get it back under control.

interesting that i came across this by mistake this thread. I have thrush at the moment, been to clinic today as i thought it was the dreaded herpes, it doesnt hurt much or itch, but it looks sore. Bit spotty, a girl wouldnt want to suck it that for sure. Anyway i have just came back from thailand so i may have caught it there, or the antibiotics i have been on for the last week or so may have caused it. the doctor said it was most likely the latter. just got to put some cream on it for a week then it should all be polishe dup and ready for war again.

Well, I have to weigh in on this issue cause I know a lot about this dreaded crap!!! One of my exes used to have yeast infections all the time and thanks to her, she passed it on to me....which means sometimes when I sweat a lot I get it around the base of the head of my cock or down at the base. It can be sore, it can be itchy. I exercise every day so sometimes that causes an outbreak. Trust me, it's no fun if you don't catch it right away. It can take up to a week to get rid of and you don't want to be sticking your cock anywhere that will pass it on, including a lady's mouth as you can give her a nasty throat infection. I asked the doc what I could do to get rid of it forever and he just said sorry, dude, you are stuck with it, thanks to the old ex bitch!!! He suggested washing the genital area with a Head and Shoulders type shampoo since it is an antibacterial shampoo and that may help. I have done that, and still do many days, and I THINK it helps. But I also keep a tube of Monistat type cream handy (same thing the ladies use for their yeast infections) and if I feel like it's coming on, I start covering the normally affected areas with the cream to stop it as quick as possible. So far in over two years of seeing my fiancee in Thailand I have not had a problem.....except for one trip where I did not see it coming and I gave it to her. Man, I got shit for a week!!! Nasty emails about the itching she had and cut off from no sex, of course. And she made ME go buy the medicine for it since she got it from me. HAH!!!
