Good luck with the sale.

I know if a few great girls that work there also so lets hope they stay on once the sale is done.

With your staff? Not done. Ask Skeeter, he only has stiff talks with the ladies :)

No price but for sale? Typical price for bars on Soi 6 is 1 million baht with 3 year lease. Rent should be be 15000 to 20000 per month. Key money 100000 baht for 3 year lease. If higher rent or key money reduce sales price by amount in excess. Higher rent is OK if no key money etc. If bar has been improved ie showers in every room, can rent rooms out for long time stay then price up to 1.5 million might be ok if rent still reasonable.

Only posting this because person selling bar did not name price.

Sounds like you have done some research into this.

Are you/were you looking at buying a bar yourself?

Helped sell a bar and also know a few people that have bought them. I still prefer to remain as a customer, too much hard work in running them.

So says everyone i have talked to on the subject. It isn't that they can't work but the effort v reward is not a normal healthy mix. The people who seem to do ok over there are people who took an expertise they already had and made it work in a new environment. whether that is hospitality or something else.  Hospitality is a tough gig in any country but to try it without a basic understanding in a new one is a hard call.

An old adage is never make your past time your source of income. Get someone who loves fishing to buy a tackle shop and after 5 years his love of fishing will be greatly diminished. I think bars would be the same. Drinking and partying in one is completely different to needing it to turn a profit for you.

I have to ask a question.

About two years ago I wanted to take a Girl at this bar upstairs.

They quoted:

Girl- Bt700

Room- Bt500

BF- Bt300.

Stayed away ever since.

Is that still the score there?

Sorry but I think you may have been mistaken there...

The Barfine covers the price of the room...I've been upstairs a couple times there and not been charged this strange "room" fee.

No, not mistaken, hence my staying away from this particular bar.

I distinctly remember running over the sums, as I'm well familiar with the price structure of Soi Six.

As I said, though, that was two years ago.

I assume, from your reply, that this is not the norm for this bar?

And it is Soi Six standard?

Ie: Lady - Bt700 and Loom - Bt300?

Certainly not the norm now.

700-1000 plus 300 BF. .

I can understand why you didn't go back.

If any bar tried to overcharge me like that I wouldn't go there again either.

I'd love a bar in Soi 6, but I don't think the better half would be well pleased about the location.

Good luck.
