I have seen a few people jogging... you best bet is to go to the fitness park... any taxi driver will know where it is. Not sure about a gym near your hotel but im sure someone will know.

I too have a question about working out while in Patts.Is there a real gym with weights and workout machines in town that a person could pay to use on a daily basis? I suppose some of the finer hotels have workout rooms to use but where I'm staying in the low rent district there appears to be nothing of the sort.

Might be a good business to start and then offer a special discount to selected hotels to encourage participation.We all need to excersize to maintain cardio fitness.Even with ED drugs,blood flow is important.

When i was there in 99. there was a gym on beach road. i think it was agold's gym. and they had daily, weekly, and monthly rates.

i hope it's still there. i was staying at the royal garden resort(now marriot). it was up the road from there. heading away from Walking Street. also i think i read some where that there is a gym in the plaza. next to the marriot but i don't no if they have daily rates

Pattaya is full of Gyms these days - no problem at all. Jogging is safe, but the air is bad in town; better to stick to a treadmill I think!

Be scene and not herd.

I was in Patts for the first time in Nov. 07. I worked out several times at Tony's gym. Do a google search for Tony's Fitness or Gym in Pattaya and you will get their large website.

Anyway, I paid 200 baht to use the facility for one day. They have weights but the space for the weights is a little cramped. The pool is really nice and they have saunas and hot tubs, tennis courts, and other stuff. They also have sexy girls in Kimonos walking around offering massages. Sorry I can't report on that since I did not indulge.

Tony's has some good food out by the pool and also will make you protein shakes etc.

Jogging? Seems safe enough to jog along the winding side walk on the beach. If you get up early enough it isn't crowded and the air is not so bad. (Granted I'm USA guy living in China so my judgment about air quality is pretty suspect).

Somebody told me the Gold's Gym closed. I don't know if that's true or not. Maybe someone can help me with that info.

Peace

Gyms in Patts are scarce indeed. There is another Tony's Gym off WS, maybe its on Soi 16. The cost is 99 baht. From what I could ascertain, it was just as good as the Tony's that charges 200.

Plenty off Gyms in pattaya;

TONYS has 4 Gyms (That i know of)

one off them as i know is 24 hours, thats on No 3 road it is also the Mauy Thai place,

It also has good massage place (Not your Happy ending type) With steem room and with small dips "Jap style" Very nice;

Tonys also has another on No 3 road with Tennis courts, nice swimming pool, Class's in spinning arobics and other stuff:

Tonys has another gym off walking street; I have not tryed this one;

There is Fairtex to northend of Pattaya; They also have Mauy Thai, geared more towards westerners:

If your staying up on Budda hill; There is a hard core Mauy Thai on the Soi that leads to Pattaya water park (Not for Pussys)

They always start off with a run up and down Budda hill, then couple hours pad and bag work then Sparing: If your up to it: With Thai

I love this one, Not meny westerns:

Just ask any motorbike taxi to take you;

Hope this is of help to you guys that want to train, dont forget; training should help your perfomance in the sack:

:rolleyes:

I run 8KMs a few times a week on the walkway that follows the beach when I am in Pattaya. It's a good way of spotting cute FLs as well. I've met some cuties this way.

I do a fair amount of jogging in Pattaya. Mostly I go to the Fitness Park on the side of Buddha Hill. If you go there in early evening you will see quite a few runners, both Thai and Farang. In fact the local running club meets there. There is a route round the hill about 1.25 Km which is traffic free and also catchs a breeze. I try and do 6 laps in just under an hour followed by a climb up the hill opposite to the viewpoint. I go to the Fitness Park on a hired scooter.

Another run I do is from my hotel in Soi 2 to Jomtien - about 8 Km I would estimate.. I set off having given my rucksack, containing beach clothes to my current girl to meet me there. After a swim we have breakfast and then sit on the beach for a while before returning by baht bus.

Beach Road is no good for running after about 10 am because of the number of people walking and also because of obstructions on the promenade placed there over the last couple of years.

A gym I would recommend is the Olympia near the junction of Sukumvit Road and Central Road (300 yards in the Bangkok direction). Its a basic gym but has a good range of equipment and is cheap to belong. The Air-con is not good, but if your motto is "No Pain No Gain" you will find it OK.

California wow is ok, and have much better aircond than for ex Tonys at Walking Street.

I think they ask for about 4000/month, but i got a deal for 2140 Bath for 1 month, and i think it would be cheaper if you write a contract for a year.

It's great to work out in the gym but i wouldn't hit the treadmills when you have beach road to jog along :D

Beach Road is hard work for jogging because of all the people you have to dodge and because of the heat. If you're an early riser, early morning is ok. Tony's gym on Soi 16 off Walking Street is good value at 99 baht. There are only three treadmills upstairs but it doesn't get too busy.

There's a Pattaya Marathon every year in July which also includes a half marathon and 10K. I did the 10K in July 2008 and it was great fun.

I didn't know about the fitness park so thanks to those BMs who've mentioned it. I'm going to take a look next time.

Tony's gym on the third road, between soi 17 and the South Pattaya road is very good. I think Tony has plans to build a new gym quite near this on.

The stray dogs put me off jogging on the streets years ago.

Usually about noon and 5pm ish there is an outdoor jazzercise workout thingy on Beach Rd just opposite Central Rd I think. I always attend but never take part. There can be some really good looking Thai birds working up a sweat. How cheap am I?
