(My) Film Review of Only God Forgives – and Exclusive Behind The Scenes Photos

I went to watch Only God Forgives this afternoon in town, and given the amount of baggage I was carrying in there I half-expected them to charge me for three seats.

First, apart from the opening action sequence in director Nicholas Winding-Refn’s previous movie, Drive, I thought it was pretentious, but beautifully shot, boring crap. I worried that Only God Forgives would be the same.

Only reason I will watch is because it was shot in Bangkok with the obligatory westernized viewpoint (sleazy, crime/drug ridden, bright neon lights of prostitution, etc.).

omens aren't good but I'll catch it when it opens in the UK just to see familiar sights in bkk...

There is nothing remotely compelling about this one. I should have suspected as much. Premiering in May at the Cannes Film Festival, Only God Forgives was viciously barbecued by the critics after the film was booed so loudly that Ryan Gosling didn’t even show up for the red carpet. Now I know why.

I have just downloaded it and will post my opinions of it when I find time to watch it, probably wednesday.

I do love a good bad film! 555

I might be one of the few people that actually enjoyed 'Drive', can't wait for this one!

Worst film ever made. Really boring and made no sense. Do not waste your money.

There's  another thread about it on the board. And, IMO, that's already more publicity then it deserves.
