April Suites or KTK Royal Residence

Hi guys,

I am looking to book for my trip in Oct and I am between these two hotel/apartments (past the Central road), price wise they are close (32$  vs 34$)

- April Suites

- KTK Royal Residence

and as an alternative

- Sunshine Hotel & Residences

My undestanding is that I will need to hire a scooter if I want to be completely independent as they seem to be a bit out of the way/path of baht bus routes, so I am wondering is it worth staying there after adding the cost of a scooter rental also (I assume that is around 1500 thb p/w)?

Ideally I would have liked to book at Areca (or around that area) but the construction work next to Areca worries me and  from what I 've seen the LK in Soi Diana is a bot out of my price range. I am looking for a decent room with wifi (must) and a pool not that much bothered about breakfast

Any thoughts/ideas are welcomed.

I've just booked KTK for October like you

I started a thread about it and everyone had good stuff to say about it

I don't think it's that out of the way, someone said its only 5-8 min walk to soi 6

Same as you, all feedback from friends for KTK was positive so my only concern is distance to LK metro.  I know its close to Soi 6 but my play areas are mainly LK metro and Soi Diana hence my question about renting a bike (which is not my preffered option nor the safest in Pattaya :GoldenSmile1:  )

Stayed at the April Suites in June in one of their superior rooms.

Its in a block located at the intersection of central and 2nd road.

The number of bahtbuses is not as dense as on BR, but i didnt have any problems finding any.

Soi 6 is approx 6-7 mins walk away.

Good thing about location though is that its a bit away from all the noise produced downtown as well,

so if you are a light sleeper that wont keep you up.

scooters are super dangerous, if you don't mind the risk they are quite fun too.

I err on the side of caution myself, and stick to baht busses and walking, no place in the fun zone between soi 2 and walking street and beach road and 2nd road  is hard to get to by baht bus.

april suites is a super clean and well run hotel, they do charge for a second girl which I object to, otherwise a great place, wonderful rooftop pool...

I do mind the risk of a motorbike accident (specially in Thailand :68: ) and I am very much so favorable of the baht bus / walking / motorbike taxi. As for april suites I very much think that its like its sister hotel august suites (where I stayed last year) and although I did had a good experience I would like to consider/get to know othe places too but it certainly is a good backup.

Probably worth referring to this thread

I have to admit I havent reviewed KTK Royal Residences but but make a booking and take a look at it.

The booking is already done for the first week of my stay :)
