Bit more information might help - like, for starters, what country you are from, and what kind of visa she is applying for, or how old she is, etc....

He is from Great Britain...

They are applying for a holiday visa...

She is in her 30's...

What else didn't you get from his post?   :)

We're not here for a long time

Just a good time !

...what country you are from...

His sidebar says Yorkshire and I believe that is in Pudding. Pudding I believe is in The Maldives.

Okay, sorry for the crack. I'm sure an experienced Brit will be along shortly, but the OP doesn't provide many details.

What grounds for refusal have been given?

Posted

she is 43 i am 49 she has her own business she was refused the first time because they didnt believe she worked the second time because we applied at the time she would have been returning now the third time because they dont believe she is working even though we provided documents in the second and third application i provided proof of income home and land deeds bank statements proof of travel throughout thailand everything they need but still no joy

As long as you can prove you/she has enough cash for the trip also she will be looked after while in the UK and she has reason to return.

You should get her holiday visa.

They like to see her bank accounts, joint bank accounts your UK and Thai bank accounts.(Photo copy everything)

Copies of rental agreements especially with her name on.

A good picture of the two of you, Mine was a romantic one at some waterfalls.

You need a letter of invitation from family stating she will be taken care of.

My girl does not work, I explained on the application form I take care of her.

When you do get her visa make sure to get holiday insurance; AXA are good cover;

When she gets to immigration in the UK make sure she has return flight details,

UK immigration do tend to ask a few questions.

Just out of curiosity -- and don't take offense -- is English your native language?

You can't really write properly -- capitalization, punctuation, etc., -- did you fill out her app?

This might be the problem... just sayin'

Use a good agency .... They know the ins and outs ....you think you may know but they do know ....my first application took 6 weeks to come back all good used an agency and she didn't even get interviewed  ....second application was 4 days all good we did that ourselves but having already done the job once it seemed foolish to pay an agency for the second attempt .......you either do it by the book and go with how it has to be done or don't bother wasting your money.

we are now sorting a settlement visa ....back to the agency again .... it's a whole different ball game .

good luck but don't try cutting any corners ....they've seen it all before a thousand times and for once in Thailand a bung doesn't seem to work .

It would help if you could post the details of the refusal, obviously don't include any personal details.

The ECO's are looking for evidence that the visit is genuine, affordable and, on the balance of probability she she will return to Thailand, or at least leave the UK, at the conclusion of her visit.

How long was the proposed trip, whilst visas are normally for six months a proposed trip over and above what might be considered the normal length would ring alarm bells, especially if the applicant had their own business.

They will not consider that having a child would be considered as a reason to return.

You say your girlfriend has a business, I'm assuming that she provided evidence of her business, they would need to be satisfied that the business is genuine and that it provides a compelling reason to return, providing evidence that somebody would be running the business during her holiday would be an advantage.

You say you have provided her bank statements, these would need to indicate that there is a flow of money coming into the account, presumably tied into her business details, they wouldn't be expecting to see a large cash deposit shortly before the application was submitted.

Likewise your bank statements would need to show that the holiday was affordable with your bank balance matching the income from your employment.

She needs to satisfy the ECO that it is reasonable for you to sponsor the trip, so evidence that you have visited regularly over the five years you've been together, indicative photos, hotel bookings when you have travelled and a copy of your passport highlighting the trips you have made to the Kingdom. Local trips are ok, but returning from overseas trips are better.

You say that you have provided evidence of her business and her land ownership on previous applications, I don't know if this means that she didn't provide them this time, but every application is treated on it's merits and on the evidence supplied at the time, it's no good relying on the evidence submitted in previous applications so she needs to provide full evidence with each application and leave nothing to doubt.

ECO's are not looking to refuse applications for entry clearance, in fact the vast majority are granted, they have a few minutes to decide on an application so you have to make the job easy for them. Supply the evidence in an indexed folder with a short covering letter from you both outlining everything, including the addressing of the reasons for previous refusals, details of the proposed trip, evidence of it's affordability, and finally evidence of her reasons to return.

My girlfriend recently applied for a visa, we have been together for about the same length of time as you guys though our age gap is more than yours, she isn't currently employed and doesn't own land, though she has been to the UK before. She provided an indexed folder containing covering letters from us both, indicative photos of us together, an itinerary of the proposed trip of a month, details of our previous travels and bank statements, the application was approved in about ten days.

Regarding your question about appealing the decision to grant entry clearance, I'm afraid that she cannot appeal as a visit visa refusal doesn't carry the right of appeal.

I think I'm understanding why her visa is being refused. Might not be her. ;-)

Yeah, have an agency handle it.

I have found it extremely easy to get 3 successful visa's after our first failure.

You are clearly missing something, and if you can't see what it is, then i'm afraid that it must now be time to admit that you will need a visa agent to help you.

As some posters have said, Key Visa will be able to do it, or else they will tell you up front that they don't think she will qualify. After my gf ( now wife ) had one personal application refused, we used Key Visa and they did it without a hiccup.  Quick too.

If they don't think she will be be accepted, they won't take the 'case' and it will cost you nothing.

Visa refused, they said see might overstay in the uk, not got anything against the uk, I lived there for 25 years, but there was no way she would overstay in the uk, Australia maybe,

This is all a bit worrying for me. I've been with my GF less than 2 years. Currently going through the process with Key Visa. GF going to the UK Embassy tomorrow for I think finger printing (although I could be wrong). ! was under the impression it was a given that her first time application would be successful. Now I'm not so sure!

If Key Visa are confident, you should be.

saw on the news lastnight that there is an estimated 1 million people in the UK without legal immigration status, mainly from eastern European, African and the middle east shithole counties. 600,000 of them in the system waiting to be processed, which will currently take 37 years to clear the backlog, the others have simply disappeared.

what I cant understand and would like to know is how these people got into the fucking country in the first place, when it is obviously so difficult/impossible to bring a thai girl back here for a genuine holiday.
