Featured Replies

Hi, I am thinking about my gf birthday present for next month (august)

I think instead buing her another bag, I book airasia flight for us My choices are Singapoore or Kuala Lumpur as same price about 10 000thb for 2 of us

Just want know some details as I never been there, she never been almost anywhere. And I dont want ask her cuz its supposed to bu surprise.

Where is nicer, like more exciting for young people, better clubs, bars, may b beach

Alcohol no problem  in KL?

I am more for Singapoore as I read some reviews.

Question is about visas for thais? does she need to apply for visa before? how long it takes?   can get visa on airport? we just go few days.

I stay in thailand on turist multientry, my first entry expires on 13 august, I think I can extend for 30 days in jomtien emmigration, then 22 aug. go Singapoore, back thailand 28, means my second thai visa entry will activate?

I am on polish passport (poland), hpw I can find out what visa I need or not need?

Any one knows some not expensive hotel in Singapoore in good area?   any good clubS?

thx for info

I can not help you with the immigration questions, but I have been to KL & Singapore.  If nightlife is what you are after, head to Bukit Bintang if you are in KL.  There are plenty of bars there.  And I believe Zouk is nearby as well if you want to dance. If you choose Singapore, check out Orchard Road or Marina Bay.  Keep in mind that Sin is very expensive.

KL is not that good. I don't think Thai women will like it so much.

Singapore or Hong-Kong. But yes they are way expensive.  Visas not required for Thais....

Koh Samui?

Koh Chang?

Vietnam?

I'd recommend Singapore, loads of night life and some pretty good restaurants and bars.

The Orchard or Clarke Quay areas has a lot of options for restaurants and bars.

It can be expensive but you can also have a cheap time if you eat at the Hawker places or go to the Golden Mile complex which is mostly Thai run.  Use the MRT to get around, it's a very reasonably price.

east coast of vietnam

HoiAn, NaThrang..

waaaay cheaper

thats what id do anyway :GoldenSmile1:

I have a Problem..... I just can't decide if its a good problem or a bad problem...

And similar food - green papaya, gorgeous seafood. Lets face it, thai women like to EAT.

Singapore

Question is, do you want to spend your time in a Developed country, or a Third World Country.

Same as home?

TGs love Singapore and why not?

Just like the West, without the prices/ travel.

Use the MRT for travel, plus eat at the Hawker Centres and it will be a stack cheaper. Though not noticeably for your TGf.

Plus better to see the place.

Take her to Sentosa, via the chair lift, Orchard Rd. etc.

Coming late to this but I'd actually recommend KL over Singapore. KL is like a mini Bkk, much cheaper than Singapore and the food is better.

Let's not forget that the malls in Singapore are HUGE... and many... and everywhere...

I predict shopping in your future is you go there ;)

Singapore tax on alcohol is huge too... figure about $10 SGD/pint.

But Singapore is also foodie heaven...

Lastly, there is Sentosa (a resort/casino/amusement part/etc)... (and there is also the Sands too)

Singapore ... Hands down by your criteria above.

Many interesting things to see and do, and very clean and nice as compared to Pattaya or KL.

Better do some research though, cause there are soooo many things to possibly do.

Let us know how it turns out.

On the visa issue ... Assuming she has a valid Thai passport, she can enter either Malaysia or Singapore without a visa. My TGF has done it many times.

There is no comparison. Singapore is a much better monger destination. Geylang is best. OT (the Orchard Towers) is good also.

Thais get 14 Days VOA in Singapore & Polish get 90 Days, just complete the Immigration forms & get your passport stamped.

Hotels are expensive, avoid the Hotel 81/ Fragrance hotels as these are often in the seedier area & used as short time hotels, Robertson Quay Hotel is ok & near the Clarke Quay/Boat Quay nightlife

I cannot give a comparison as KL is somewhere I have not visited yet, Sin though I hope you are wealthier than me, it can be super expensive.

Singapore expensive?!? I nearly spilt my s$13 (approx 320THB ) pint when I read that!

Seriously it is expensive here, but if you're looking at a choice between SG & KL to take your GF for her birthday, then SG (IMHO) wins hands down, 2nd for me would be Hong Kong which is even more expensive.

OK ...KL is Muslim and your TG is buddhist , you might like to ask her first.

Singapore is much more expensive but if you don’t mind $100 plus for a hotel room then it can e a great place. If its about the money a trip to a resort on Bintan Island can help the budget and its not a bad place to lounge around the pool.

I actually like the island resorts on the East Coast of maylasia. Get to Mersing and look for bargains. I stayed on Pulau Besar at De Coconut Resort  for around $50 per night but the web prices were over $100.... A bit of an adventure.

There are some that only employ words for the purpose of disguising their thoughts.
