Hello everyone !

 

here is my review of this incredible 5 stars hotel in Koh phangan !

i went there last month for holiday with my girlfriend, we stay there 3 nights and then move to Koh Tao.

i would like to share with you my experience with it.

 

 

Travel, Reception, Staff, around

 

First of all, you have to know that the road for get this hotel is realy, really hard, it's like an action movie, seriously.

dangerous climb, rock, at the half way (exactly when still have 9 km distance) there will no have bitumen, only sands and rocks.

so most of the travellers was scared (actually a mini van come pick you up at the boat arrivals from samui).

 

So be aware that this 5 stars hotel, when you want to go there, it's for stay. You can rent a motobike and trying to get back to the city, but it's really difficult and dangerous, so it's better to not go in.

so if you want a relax holiday, take it, it's worth a visit.

 

Pro: you can have a walk a the beach from there, about 10 minutes walk, you will get a side from the island when there is a part of the city, with restaurant access, shop, and after there is the normal road for can drive to the full moon party.

 

so arriving to the hotel, staff is really nice and cheerful, give you a drink for waiting check in.

 

so i book by Agoda. i took a room name "the rock" , it's a deluxe room, normal price was 15000bath/night , got it at 7000 on agoda, special rate.

there is plenty of room and different prices.

will show pictures at the end of the review.

 

so after check in, staff take you in your room.

be careful : you really have to learn the road : as i told you, this hotel is quite far from everything, so that's why they make a village in this resort ! it's really big , a lot of trees and vegetation,

if you have room on the top, time for you get the beach by walk in nearly 10 minutes up.

But Santhiya think about you : they create a wonderful "Wooden car" . it's like a normal pick up, but like a carroussel, take you where you want in the resort. if you need it to pick up you from your room, you give a call, and it be there in few minutes.

 

 

Room, Pool, Beach

 

Room was extraordinary. really nice, big bathtub in the middle, italian shower, really great. staff burn some special "cristal' in room for give a special scent, and it's great.

they clean room when you are not here and you never see them, it's like magic.

 

about the swimming pool, there is two :

 

one on the top of hotel, with an incredible view on their vegetation, tress and more far the beach. quite small but nice for take a sun bath.

the bigger pool is in front of the beach, bigger, some small waterfall. drinking your cocktail there is like paradise.

beach is really clean also. you can rent a kayak for try to take a round, but it's nice to swim, white sand, but some of nearby hotel have more beautiful sands ^^

 

beach is not too big, but it's not full of customers so is ok.  one bad points, swimming pool s close at 7:30 pm, for cleaning , so it's quite deceiving as i like to swin at night sometimes.

there is a fitness room also but out of order i think, there was nothing when i was there.

 

Services, restaurant

 

Finally, the resort has also a Spa.

i use it everyday, and i can tell that is ok.

first, they have a wonderful reception girl, really nice and beautiful , that makes me feel good already

the choice of massage is big, it's little bit expensive (1800 baht for 1h30 aroma massage)

but you are in a five stars, do not forget they are specialists there, we are not in soi chayapoon haha ^^

 

so it was really good massage, at the end, they give you a great lemon cake with tea.

skin care also is good, body scrub nice, they use good products and give you a lot of choice.

About the restaurant, there is two : the biggest one in the middle, with a great view, they make special ight almost everyday, with singer, buffet, ect...

the food is not so good. they have good dessert, but thai food and western food is not that good for this kind of hotel.

all restuarant staff is from Phillipinnes. they have an excellent english and they are really nice.

 

also ,there is a small restaurant at the beach. you can lay down on the sofa and be on a sea view, it's great.

but really they have to change their chief i think

also, you can do same in a movie, never pay your bill at spa, or restaurant, just say "put in on my room" 

 

you are very happy after when you check out and you have your bill waiting you ^^ i paid 12000 bath for all we do in 3 days.

laundry is good but really really expensive (200 bath for 1 t shirt)

Pity you stayed 'in house', some good 'island style' night life going on, but better to go as a single man... out of interest, where did you stay on Koh Tao ?

yeah sure, actually in couple it's great, but alone or with freind , some bungalow can be nice.

 

i will review my hotel in Koh tao also soon, i stay in "Haad tien Resort".
