R-con Blue Ocean Review

Hi Folks,

just wanna share my experience with this brand name from Ratanakorn Asset.

this company have a lots of condominium and hotel, most known is R-con Residence in soi Bukhaow.

There last new hotel, about a year, is the R-con Blue Ocean is Soi Buakhaow.

the starter price was 500 bath. Now the launching was done, so normal price is about 900 bath.

Access, Staff, Reception

So first, the access.

really easy : on soi buakhaow, just close to Tesco lotus express, their is a little road, go inside, and you are in the hotel.

It's really close to Rehab a gogo & bar, but in the nght, it's not noisy at all : only if you go to bed at 8pm, and your room is on the bar side, yeah you will hear a little bit of music.

If not, you will not hear nothing.

The staff is the same from R-con residence. I recognize them all as i am a really old customer. There are all really nice and funny, very available. if you need anything, just a smile, ask, and they will got it for you.

You can ask Deng if you go there, she know me well, if you need anything, say you come from me ;);)

Room, Price,Service

About the room, it's still new: design is reallty good, even there are 3 types of colors: orange, blue and green.

it's look like Nemo movie style, but it's look good. kitchen is big,  shower is good, sofa in front of TV and the Bed is king size and really great ! (who slept in R-con residence will know)

there still have so light problem, some room got missed table, or some stuff is not installed in bathroom yet, but they told me everything is update now.

The price was really fine at 500 bath , it goes up to 900 bath in high season, but you still can negociate.

If there is a group of people coming, please tell me that i can talk to them, if i say that you are all my friend and coming because of me, i could get a better price (not extraordinary but still ok ^^)

Room service is the minimum, clean room everyday, there is no restaurant in the hotel.

they have a good swimming pool donwstair, just in front of all the bar, so it's really nice to swim and talk to some girls sit in the bar ^^

The really nice point is the shower : it's a transparant glass, s you can see the girl shower, it really exciting. for a little bit of discretion, you can put the curtains for don't see, but this is more exiting, as, if you off all lghts, the bathroom's light will show you a beautiful shadow of your lady took a shower, really nice point.

Bad Points

So everything is not perfect, but here is what make me little bit boring :

there is only one elevator. so you understand that, at a busy time, you can wait 15 minute for got it, because it is really slow also ! there is 7 floor, so if you want to training a little, stairs will be your friend :)

also the curtains is really light. Not same R-con residence, where if you come back after 5 o'clock in the morning, all the room is full of light, curtains is too much light.

in Blue ocean, it's better, but not big enough for cover all part of windows, so some light still pass on.

Also, last thing, for who like to eat in room, no restaurant in the hotel yet, maybe soon.

that's all , if someone need more informations, or specific pictures, i can go there and do it, they let me access to the rooms. f need a specific color or a booking, let me know also ^^

ps: i don't have any parts in this hotel, i'm not owner or something haha, just for share ^^

i stayed there last year for 3 weeks, the very best deal that i could was 800 baht per night.

shouldn't think you will get a room below 800 baht, regardless what season

No sun light at any time of the day at pool side.

room over looking action street side of the hotel is the quietest, the other side is over looking the large indoor beer

complex.

is there still construction going on?

last year they were putting in the foundation for a new project and every morning at 7:30-8am the "clanking and banging" would begin

Posted

I stayed there but only for one night as the service was crap and they just did not care.

I booked the nemo room (more money) and was told that it was not available because it was already full (yes but I booked it months ago!)

I agreed to stay on one of the lower levels but as these were cheaper rooms I wanted a lower rate..."Sorry mister can not do because you book on internet"....."yes but this not room I booked!"

The room I was put into was OK...I actually like the rooms BUT the safe did not work...it could not be opened.

They told me the next morning I would have to move rooms again to a lower level again...."Ok can I have a discount NOW on the room as I booked the Nemo room originally"..."No sorry mister".

So I packed my bags and left there never to return.

Luckily I had only paid the deposit for the one night on the agoda website....that's no way to run a business.

You should provide the room you are booked into OR at least not forced to pay that same rate for a worse (smaller) room.

It's the old bait and switch tactic.

I would say anyone considering staying there should book with caution.

It will be very interesting to see what other addicts say about this hotel .

Oh i'm really chocked of what i read, when you was there?

it's sounds crazy, as they always acting good, and everytime me or my mate got a problem in room (last year, my friend got a room "smelly" , there is a strong smell coming out from toilet, we do not know what was that)

so she find him another room.

but yeah i never try an online booking with them, thank you for this review, so have to be careful then about that.

A gir i met in insomnia showed me this place last september 2012. I was staying at Jasmines in walking street paying 900 baht. She took me to R Con Blue ocean and payed 700baht a night for the remainder of my stay at a much better cleaner quieter hotel. It was a great hotel. Nice bed, loved the shower. I actually bought a dvd palayer and plugged it into the TV.

I have stayed there again for my last 3 visits.

December they were booked out so got a room in January for 900 baht and then i stayed again in April and payed 800 baht.

I took off to koh samet for a few days and they looked after my luggage while i was gone.

The staff seemed very friendly, but as one guy said earlier some rooms have a bit of a smell. I asked to change in April but had to wait a couple of days so i bougt the deoderisor thing you hand on the walls. That done the trick. I noticed some rooms had a bad smell and others didnt. After my first visit i used to just ring and book a room over the phone and just confirm a week and a couple of days before i get there.

But overall, Good value for money. Brang back two ladies a few times and never got hassled or charged extra joiner fee.

Only bad thing is that they will charge you 500baht for late check out.

I will definitely stay again for majority of the trip but as usual will always change to a nicer hotel to live it up for abot 5- 6 days

Yes, about the smell, they told me working on it, it's from toilet most of time, and i think it's from one of their outside evacuation.

it's not really nice when bring a her and it's smelly all around the room, it will make her think funny thing haha

thank you for the informations about the late checking out, but most of the time they accept a checking out at 2 pm.

I had one question, but Moey007 already told the answer: no joiner if bring 2 guests.

I contacted this hotel and thinking about staying here, starting from Thursday this week.

Monthly rate 12990 baht + electric and water. Also wifi is not free, 750baht per month.

So monhtly total approx 15500baht, little more than 500 baht per day.

Cleaning twice a week.

You probably did not pay monthly fee if you had cleaning every day. Many places have cleaning every other day or twice a week if you stay with monthly rate.

If you are ok with a god awful smell, small crappy tv, zero service, un safe safes then its a great deal for the price. I was there for 2 weeks and more last year

Forget health clinics and gyms. Sex is the best cure. One good night of sex and your problems are gone.

If you were unhappy with the place, why did you stay for more than 2 weeks?

Well, I had prepaid in advance cos they offered a good deal but regretted it later. Besides, they said no refund!!

To be honest, its a good location and hotel looks new but their service, expensive wi-fi and most of all, the sewage smell is a big turn off!
