Places I have stayed and places I ask about the GF status

I thought I just let you know where I stayed in the past at Phuket (Patong) and my experiences there.

 

Charlies Guesthouse 1+2 (budget place):

143/8-9 Ratuthit Rd (2min to Bangla)

GF?: Yes 100%

 

Number 1 is located right at the beginning of the street (with a small shitty restaurant) and Charlies Guesthouse 2

is just 150 meters ahead and in my opinion the better choice since it's more quiet at night.

The overall problem is that the rooms are so different (some are shit, some ain't), make sure you

get a room in floor 1-3 and not above !

All of the rooms are very basic. A/C, TV, warm shower.

Staff is not super friendly but the room service is quick and that old lady at Charlies2 seems to love

to do your laundry in like an hour. Have been here 3-4 times but unfortunately the quality of the rooms

are getting worse over the years.

It's a very simple place to stay but since you can do whatever you like I rate it 6 stars out of 10.

 

Thanthip Beach Resort Phuket:

41/3 Chalermphrakiat Road (10min to Bangla)

prica range: 1300 - 2500

GF?: 500baht /night

 

Huge clean rooms, nice pool, very nice shower (bath tub), fridge stocked with drinks (cheap),

balcony, room service.

Massive down point is the 500baht per night they charge if you bring a girl..

I give it a 7 anyway

 

Star Guesthouse (budget place):

143/8-9 Rat-u-thit 200 pee Rd. Patong Beach (2min to Bangla)

I have stayed here for a week once and I can't really say why. Service it's lousy, no room service until

you tell them. Rooms are dark and not very confortuable. Shower is located right next to your toilet.

Unless you have no other choice, forget about it..

White Patong:

Soi Sansabai, Rat-U-Thit200 road (2min to Bangla)

I send an enquiry wherever the place is gf or not and I checked out rooms on my last trip. Looks pretty decent

and clean. Downpoint might be the noise at night but can't tell, might stay there for a few nights on my next trip.

They have also a plave which is called "The Wave", it's about 1.3km away from Bangla but half the price.

 

Amata Resort Patong:

189/29 Rat-U-Thit Songroi Pi Road (5 min to Bangla)

price: 900 - 2000 (low season, probably double in peak)

Extra person policy is one room can stay 2 people , if you stay alone, you can have one extra person per night.
More than one , 500 baht will be charged per room per night
If you stay 2 people, any extra person will be charged 500 baht
About the standard rooms,  the standard rooms do not have balconies , no view the rooms are facing to another building.

Pool available, medium range place.

 

Tony Resort:

206/30 Rat-U-Thit 200 Pee Road (5min to Bangla)

Answer I got today per E-Mail (07.07.2013):

Since I fly over to Patong in 3 weeks again (Yes I'm more of a Phuket freak) and just stay for 12 days I look for a proper place with pool this time, I send several E-Mails and ask wherever the places are GF or not, I'll let you know about the places when I received answers. I'd like to create a list with places and experience in Patong. You are welcome to contribute your experience, too.
