The FTSE has dropped 2% in a day 3 or 4 times since May. On Jun 20th it dropped 3% in a day. One thing I did notice recently is that a drop in the FTSE is nearly always accompanied by a rise in the GBP vs the Baht. The big losses on the stock markets in the UK and Europe are down to an expected tapering in the US Fed's stimulus program. It's the Feds QE that has seen money flowing into emerging markets, like Thailand, and driven up their currency.
