Some of the bigger hotels require a deposit on checking in and I read somewhere that the august suites require a 2000 baht deposit on doing so,i assume for minor breakages etc.

Just wondering if anyone as stayed there lately or if indeed they know if they still have this policy.Im not bothered if they do or don't cos im not planning on trashing my hotel room or throwing the TV into the pool or anything, not that 2k would go very far :P i just like to be prepared.

thanks.

they charge extra if you bring a second guest, 500 tb.

so does sister hotel April Suites.

just so you know in advance.

I like threesomes, and prefer hotels who don't charge me for the extra gal...

Don`t know about your hotel but a friend of mine left a 500 baht deposit with his hotel but lost the receipt for this.  When he came to check out, they refused to give him the 500 baht back because of no receipt!  So look after your receipt!!!

Yes I was aware of the second guest charge,i don't do regular threesomes but if I did do the odd one I would pay the extra charge if it was only once or twice during the holiday.Whats 500-1000 baht over three weeks, although admittedly if it became regular it could add up to quite a sum.

Thanks anyway.

I think a cash deposit is only asked if you do not leave a credit card.

Hotels are businesses and they do need to cover things such as use of the drinks in the fridge etc.

I have never had a credit card abused in any hotel of repute but if I was unsure about it I would opt for a cash deposit anyway. I think 2000 is quite reasonable.
