If he starts living in Russia, then it's only a matter of time before we see him in Pattaya.

... like Russian asylum is going to work for him!? ... oh, yeah ... now there is a principled government that will protect him ... they can be trusted!

... the US Department of Justice is talking, right now, to Snowden's father, telling him to advise his idiot son that the US will trade any number of Russians incarcerated in US prisons to get at him ... remember comrades Boris Batenov, Natasha Fatale, Fearless Leader, Viktor 'Lord of War' Bout?! ... for Snowden, any one of those would be on a plane with a gift jug of Grey Goose Vodka and a 1st class ticket back to Mother Russia in a hot NY minute!

... here's my bet, men ... the US has got to put the fear of death in every one of the untold thousands of Americans with security clearances and access to highly sensitive intel ... they want any delusionals with designs on being a Hollywood anti-establishment hero, to break into a cold sweat when they hear the word "Snowden" ... or, "snow cone" ... or, "snow report" ... they will get this guy ... even if they have to snatch him.

Was Edward Snowden on board plane carrying Bolivian President? Mystery of 'ex-spy's flight from Moscow' after aircraft makes unscheduled landing in Austria
article-2354169-1AA1182E000005DC-605_87x

France and Portugal refused to let the aircraft cross their airspace because of suspicions that NSA leaker Snowden was on board, the country's foreign minister David Choquehuanca

Of all places, Russia? What American goes there for hiding? Cold weather, Russian mob, corrupt government, restricted rights, bad traffic, oh and they also spy on their own people too, etc.

He's not very smart.

THEY spy on their own people? That's ironic, in the circumstances.

This is shocking that planes can be forced to land because Snowden may be onboard.

Bolivian President Evo Morales's plane had to be diverted to Austria amid suspicion that US intelligence leaker Edward Snowden was on board, the Bolivian foreign minister has said.

Officials in both Austria and Bolivia said Mr Snowden was not on the plane.

France and Portugal reportedly refused to allow the Moscow-Bolivia flight to cross their airspace.

Mr Snowden is reportedly seeking asylum in Bolivia and 20 other countries to avoid extradition to the US.

Bolivian Foreign Minister David Choquehuanca told reporters on Tuesday that France and Portugal had closed their airspace over the "huge lie" that Mr Snowden, 30, was on board.

"We don't know who invented this lie, but we want to denounce to the international community this injustice with the plane of President Evo Morales," he said.

Austrian foreign ministry spokesman Alexander Schallenberg said Mr Snowden was not on board the Bolivian leader's aircraft.

'Hostile act'

The Bolivian defence minister, also on the flight, pilloried the US after the unscheduled landing.

"This is a hostile act by the United States state department which has used various European governments," Ruben Saavedra said.

I strongly suspect the US Dept. of State officially doesn't give a fuck.

 .

... that France and Portugal were (probably) coerced into refusing Bolivia  flightclearance is to me pretty conpelling evidence that the US is going to rat-fuck this guy ... hard, and repeatedly!

... there is really no place in the free world he can go where he cannot be eventually found and lifted-out by US operatives.

... wonder if any other brave Hollywood inspired anti-heroes with security clearances are interested in following this idiot into oblivion?

I thought he already removed his application for Russian asylum when Putin said that he would get it only if he stopped releasing this information. And Snowden probably thinks of himself as a modern times Robinhood. So he would never go for this.

I've read on the news that Russia has no extradition treaties with the US and also Russian is a member of some European accord not to extradite to countries with death penalty. In Europe death penalty was abolished but the US still practices it. So nobody can be extradited from Europe to the US by law.

But I believe that Snowden is a headache for Russian authorities. They would be happy to hand him over to Bolivia or Venezuela. The only problem now is how to transport him there. Europe is closed. The only way is to fly through all of Russia to the east and then across the Pacific to South America. Thus you will not cross borders of any other states. But it's a helluva long trip.
