Retired Senior Microsoft Manager Dies In Phuket

Microsoft’s former Principal Architect of Internet Operations, Cliff Bamford, 69, was found dead this morning, face-down in the swimming pool of his rented villa at Tamarind Villas, Santisuk Rd, Wichit

PHUKET – July,1,2013; Mr Bamford was discovered by housekeeper Nanthiya Roongrueng at 8.45 am. It appears he was about to swim; he was wearing swimming shorts and a towel was found close by.

Phuket Tourist Police Superintendent Capt Urumporn Koondejsumrit told The Phuket News that Mr Bamford had been living in Thailand for about 10 years, and had a history of heart trouble.

He had been treated at Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok, was on medication, and was scheduled to have a bypass operation soon.

His Thai wife was not at their home when Mr Bamford died; she was staying in another province, but was due back in Phuket this afternoon.
