Health Spas/Retreats in Thailand

Hey guys,

I am looking at spending a week or two doing a cleanse and raw food thing at a spa in Thailand, the one I have found that I like is http://www.thespakohchang.com/

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this place, or has any others they would recommend looking at.

I have been to Koh Chang and liked it (white sand beach last trip for 5 days with massage girl), the prices seem to be better than similar programs offered in Samui/Phuket/Chang Mai...

I want to reprogram myself, I eat way too much crap and need to lose 100 pounds...  Spending 10+ days focusing on this seems to me to be a good way to get started in the right direction...  And the cost with airfare is still cheaper than similar offerings in the USA... So, no brainer to me.  I might even hire my massage girl to come along with me...  :)

Thanks!

g

Hi,

If you are serious about loosing weight then there are much better and cheaper options than Thailand. You should go to India. They have all those ayurveda techniques.

I know a person weighing 250lbs 5.7" going there for a month and reduced about 35-40lbs. He came back, sticked to the practice he learnt from there and slowly reached his target weight. If you want details I can ask him.

There are some health spa places right by the beach in Hua Hin, but they are not cheap - we are talking something like 5,000 baht per day minimum for the accommodation and range of services that they offer.

A place called Chiva Som seems to get good reviews.

Getting to Hua Hin from Swampy (Airport) should set you back around 2,000B for the taxi ride.
