Police Arrest Gang That Brought Under â€“ Age Girls Into Prostitution

Police officers of Chokchai police station held a press conference regarding the arrest of a group 4 suspects, 7 more suspects are still being tracked down by investigation officers. It was reported that the mentioned group brought under-age girls into prostitution.

BANGKOK – June 27, 2013 [PDN]; At 11.00 AM, Police Colonel Thanawat Wattanakul, the Director of Chokchai police station together with investigation officers held a press conference regarding the arrest 4 suspects that were suspected of human trafficking, raping, and arraging prostitution of under-age girls. The suspects have been identified as 30 year-old Ms. Prapaiporn Wiriyanon, 34 year-old Mr.Sarawut Jampoonake, 28 year-old Mr.Somkid Intara-o, and 26 year-old Mr.Sompoch Leaularp.

Police Colonel Thanawat said that, on the late night of June 26, while investigation officers of Chokechai police station were having a routine patrol, as they approached the Samsuda Apartment in Soi Lad Phrao 93 they found two under age girls who were crying, he said that it looked like they had been raped. When police asked them with what happened, they said that they had been raped by Mr. Somkid, one of the 4 suspects that were arrested. They said that they had also been raped by 7 other men.

After further investigation police found out that that Ms. Prapaiporn was the one of who had linked the under-age girls to prostitution. Mr. Sarawut was reported to have delivered the girls to the 7 or 8 men that were reported to have raped the girls in a garage in Soi Lad Phrao 122.

Ms. Prapaiporn immediately denied that she had brought or forced the girls into prostitution, she claimed that the girls had no where to live, Ms. Prapaiporn let them live in at her house. But after a while the wanted money to live on, which made her find customers. She then sent or delivered the girls to different places and houses. The girls earned around 500-1,000 THB each, Ms. Prapaiporn admitted that she did get 300 THB for each time.

Ms. Prapaiporn continued to admit that Mr. Somkid contacted her to prostitute the girls. Mr. Sarawut then delivered the girls to a garage in Soi Lad Phrao. Mr. Sarawut and Ms. Prapaiporn together with 2 other suspects have now been prosecuted by Chokchai police officers.
