Flights going the other way Bangkok to London

Anyone have any ideas, looking for flights from Bangkok to London and back for 2 weeks in August, everywhere I've looked costs much more than the opposite way (London Bangkok London)

August is peek holiday season in London you will be paying a premium because of that, I would think the best prices will be indirect flights (if you have not checked those already).

I lived in SE Asia for many years and used to travel back a few times each year, I always found mid-week flights cost a little less.

Try http://www.kayak.co.uk/ and http://www.skyscanner.net/ and play around with the dates maybe.

I book one return flight (direct) a year. That narrows the options down to EVA, Thai, BA and QANTAS (latter two often code-share). Point to point fares with European carriers (SAS, KLM) come next - depends what your UK destination airport is.

Airline web-sites have consistently offered the best prices. EVA usually win, though last December Thai offered a cheaper price.

August and other UK holiday periods are expensive times to travel LOS to UK and back.

Please post the results of your research. Thanks.

I do a BKK-LHR-BKK trip every year and it's always expensive.  I don't like the Indian airlines and prefer a direct flight, so usually end up with EVA.

Guy at Music Travel in Pattaya can usually come up with some offers, so I recommend giving him a try.

I believe one of our English BMs was trying to buy a ticket home and the travel agent quoted 15,100 baht.

He looked in his wallet and said “I only have 15,000" baht but the agent was unmoved.

Dejected, the English BM went into the Roo bar and asked a few Aussies if they could help him out with 100 baht so he could get back to England.

The Aussies quickly collected a 1000 baht and said “here you go mate, take 9 of your mates with you"

I bought a return ticket from LHR to BKK with a return about 9 months later.

When I need to go back to the UK I just change the date for the return leg and then buy another LHR-BKK ticket.

As I go back to the UK at least once a year this system works for me.

If it flies, floats or fucks - it will be cheaper to rent !
