Japan has now lifted the requirement for Thai-nationals to have a visa if they want to come to Japan as a tourist. This is good (or bad..lol) for us BM that want to bring a teelak over for a visit. I have already had 2 girls let me know they are aware of this and want to visit. Just need to think about how my wife will take it.. :WhoSaw1:

There is no link to the article. How long can they visit?

Posted

I will edit the link...90 days

Sorry about that..Link should be ok now and they can stay for 90 days same as any other tourist.

I believe it is 15 days as I was just about to apply for a visa and was told my Mrs would be covered automatically on arrival for that period.

I just assumed it would be 90 days. Have not found anything yet on the length of stay. But if that's what you were told I would say its correct

Posted

You are right I just read its good for 15 days or less.

Might be worth the while for some of the hottest go go girls to head over for short term contracts.

Now if they would just lower the cost to fly into Tokyo :GoldenSmile1:

The Japanese updated their original announcement recently, and indeed it is up to 15 days stay for Thais without any visa required. Which is a nice change.

However, keep in mind, the Japanese Immigration folks still have the ability to question and I gather reject any arrival that they think is not a legit tourist or not planning to return within the required time, and can demand to see things like return airfare confirmations, etc etc.

It'll be tough if they don't know Japanese or someone who already lives there. Also, Tokyo is a very expensive city to live in.

I think Korea is the same, but just because a visa is not required, this doesn't mean immigration has to let the girl into the country.  Korean immigration watches for young Thai girls and sometimes denies them entry because they are afraid they will work there.

Assuming you will be taking a hot little Thai girl, I think taking your girl to the country's embassy and getting a visa is a much safer option.  Cheaper getting rejected at the embassy than flying all the way to Japan/Korea to get rejected.

Yes it is for 15 days with no restrictions, wont be taking the wife, I dont believe in taking chocolate in to a sweet shop :GoldenSmile1:

Japan previously was a difficult place to get a visa for I think it is a good thing.

Key Visa...I agree with your way of thinking....but even after eating at the sweet shop all year I do enjoy a week of chocolate once in awhile... The down side is the cost to bring a girl here for a week is about the same as going to Patts for 2 weeks and going all out.But hey for those living here that are in love it a good thing. Lucky for me I am not one of them
