A furniture shop owner went to police to report that he was swindled by a gang consisting 4 men and women. He said that group acted as if they were going to buy a set of luxury furniture, after choosing the furniture, they ordered Mr. Amorn, the owner of the shop to send it to a military shelter in the South of Thailand.

SATTAHIP – June 25, 2013 [PDN]; At around 10.00 PM, 67 year-old Mr. Amorn Gaowatra, together with his 33 year-old son, Mr. Amarin, went to file a report at Sattahip police station. They went to report to Police Captain Ekachai Mullee, who was in charge at the police station. Mr. Amorn told Police Captain Ekachai that his furniture shop was frauded by a gang consisting of both men and women

Mr. Amorn testified that the group came in and acted like they wanted to buy furniture. He said that they tricked him to believe that they had a nephew who served at the military. They said that their nephew wanted to overhaul his bedroom’s furniture, they claimed that they had a 60,000 THB cash budget. After they had ordered the furniture set and agreed a deal with Mr. Amorn, they took blankets, pillows and other portable things to their Isuzu Dmax pick-up truck. They then ordered Mr. Amorn to send bigger parts of the furniture set to the military shelter of the Naval Ordnance Department. But when Mr. Amorn arrived at the military camp, the group told Mr. Amorn to wait outside the camp. After waiting for a long period of time, Mr. Amorn realized that he was tricked the group and that his furniture was meant to be stolen or frauded all along.

Police Captain Ekachai revealed that, after that checking the license numbers of the Isuzu car that used by the suspect it was known that the car likely belonged to a local politician’s car. Police will now contact and find the owner of the car, after he/she had been identified.
