First there was a police pickup tore through Second Road sirens and lights blazing, across the end of Soi Diamond towards Theppraya leaving what looked like ripped off wing mirrors spinning in the road.

 

Next I saw they'd got Third Road blocked off and lots of lights flashing around the Bali Hai flyover.

 

Motor bike taxi guys said there were gunshots too.

Thanks, that was obviously the incident - it was pretty spectacular as the chase came pst the end of Soi Diamond and it seems they got a fair bit further, despite the heavy traffic.

 

We tend to take the piss out of the BiB here (despite the rules) but it seems to me they can be pretty damned efficient at running villains down.

2 Men Shoot Pliceman At Police Checkpoint In Pattaya

2 men that were on a car broke through a police check point and shot down police men. But the 2 men were arrested after police were able to successfully chase them down.

 

 

PATTAYA – June 25, 2013 [PDN]; At 10.00 PM, As Police Captain Noppadon Raksawong of Pattaya City police station was having a routine police checkpoint in South Pattaya, police saw a Toyota Vios car looked customized and tuned approaching the checkpoint.

 

As the two men saw the police checkpoint, they stopped car and reversed the other way. But the police were suspicious with their behavior, making the police officers that were stationed at the checkpoint chase them down. Police officers around the area were notified via radio that they should stop the Toyota Vios car that escaped the police checkpoint. The driver of Toyota car then opened his window and shot a few times at the police in hopes to stop the police, but he failed to do so. As the chase dragged on, he damaged 4 cars that were in his way.

As the incident became more and more chaotic, voluntary police officers tried to charge the car, but they were fatally injured after the suspects drove into them. Police then decided to stop the car by shooting the car, after police fired at the car, it stopped. It was later known that the two suspects were injured, they were then sent to Pattaya Memorial hospital for further treatment.

 

Police Colonel Suwan Chiewnawintawat, Director of the operation revealed that the two men were identified as 25 year-old Mr. Hemrat and 32 year-old Mr. Chokchai. Both are now at Pattaya Memorial hospital to receive further treatment. He revealed that once they have recovered, they will be prosecuted for various commitments.
